Our Days Off
Lance and I took yesterday and today off of work to get some things done around the house and then go to Nashville for the weekend. Yesterday, we were going to paint the nursery but Lance decided he didn't want me "around the fumes". I think he just wanted to get it done on his own. So I said that was fine...I don't mind going shopping. I ran to Home Depot for some stuff we needed for the house and then off to the mall I went. I spent a little more money than I was planning on but I REALLY need some clothes. I only have five pairs of pants that I can wear. After the mall and painting, we went to have lunch with my dad and get adjusted. When we came home Lance finished up some painting and I took a nap on the couch. Hard day...I know. Then off to a silent auction and dinner. It was nice but a little boring. Today we had planned on leaving for Nashville around 11:00 but seeing as it is 10:57 and I am typing this in my pjs and Lance is out cutting the grass, I don't think that is going to happen. However, I did actually do something productive today besides spend money! I put together the crib...ALL BY MYSELF. It was super easy! As you can see below, the crib and paint look fabulous!

Gone...
The grumpy's are gone today. I am so relieved. It must have been yoga that did the trick. I never would have believed that yoga could help clear your mind...but it does.
A nice thing about being pregnant is meeting other pregnant women. No one else in the world knows what you are going through right at that moment than some one else who is currently pregnant. I think that even women who have been pregnant before (or even recently) forget what all goes through your mind the first time you are pregnant. For example, I met a man a couple of months ago that had a six month old son and he said his wife was already talking about how she was ready to have another one. He said he hadn't gotten over the trauma of having this first one...some one must have erased her mind. I don't know that I want to forget everything though. I think that is what makes all of this special. I am just trying (really hard) to enjoy everything about this!! My New Year's resolution this year was to be more positive...I should have just given up junk food or something...it would have been a lot easier.
Well, I am off to have a positive day...

Cranky
I am cranky today...definitely moody! I found this on one of my websites that I look at every week about pregnancy: "If you're having some wild mood swings, don't fret. They're normal even if they don't feel normal." I don't like feeling this way...even if it is normal. Maybe I am cranky because I am sleepy. I have been having crazy dreams lately. I could also be tired because this weekend was busy (and a little stressful) and I don't feel like I got much rest. We did yard work most of the day Saturday and Sunday. The yard looks much better though. Hopefully our spreading juniper will spread...I do not have much of a green thumb. I also read that the baby should grow about six ounces this week...maybe my body is just pooped! I am so glad we are taking Thursday and Friday off this week. It will give us time to relax and get a few things done around the house that we wouldn't normally have time to do. Then we are off to Nashville for the weekend. I am so excited about going. I have never spent time in Nashville!! Hopefully I can get over being cranky by Friday. Geez...I hope so!!
Today is YOGA DAY...I do love yoga days so hopefully tonights yoga class will pull me out of this funk!!

It's Friday!!
Yeah! I love that it is Friday and almost time to go home. This weekend is full of yard and house work. Don't you just love that? I guess they are both the necessary evils of owning a home. I am also totally excited that it is going to 80 degrees this weekend. Spring is in the air! I think the groundhog was a little off this year...it has taken 7 weeks for Spring to come...he said 6 weeks. I guess we can forgive him for that.
Have a GREAT weekend!!

Cleaning
Cleaning is not something that I enjoy but I LOVE it when things are cleaned. My mood definitely changes when things are cleaned versus being dirty and cluttery. I hate walking in to places that are cluttered...I feel like I am cramped. Our island in our kitchen is a constant source of clutter which drives me nuts. It is the catch all place of the house.
We decided a couple of months ago to start having our house cleaned once a month. That way we just had to maintain the cleanliness. Yesterday was the second time they came and I am not happy! When we got home there was still Comet all over the sink as if they forgot to finish cleaning, they never put things back where they belong, and they rummage through our food!! YUCK!! I contacted the company through email this morning and told them we were no longer going to use their services and explained why. I have to admit that I kind of feel bad now because the owner is such a nice guy but I do not want to stress out about having my house cleaned...especially once the baby is here.
Anyways, I guess I have to start cleaning again on my own...BOOOOO!!!!

She's wild
Lance finally got to feel the baby kick this weekend. On Saturday morning she started moving around a lot around 4:30am. I was kind of asleep and hand my hand draped across my stomach. She kicked so hard it knocked my hand off my stomach. Around 8:30am (we were still in bed which is late for us) Lance was still asleep but I felt her moving around a lot again. I woke him up and had him lay his hand on my stomach to see if she would kick him. She eventually did and he was excited to feel that. He has been asking ever since I started feeling her when he was going to be able to feel it. It seems like around 8:00 and 9:00am she starts moving around. I think because she is hungry! I guess I better go eat some breakfast now.

American Idol
Why is it SOOO horrible this year?? Lance and I have been watching American Idol since day one. We were huge Kelly Clarkson fans in the first season (and actually have two of her CD's). After year one we strayed from watching the "bad" out takes and waited to start watching until Hollywood or at the latest the top 12. Year two I fell victim to Ruben's teddy bear persona and cheered him on to victory. Year three we both HATED the whiny voice of Fanatasia and I cheered for Diana...you have to cheer for the hometown girl no matter how annoying her mom is. Year four we were both huge Carrie Underwood fans (and have a copy of her CD). Year five we liked Taylor but really wanted Katherine to win. This year, however, we are bummed at how BAD everyone is. The only person I liked last night was LaKeisha. She had an amazing voice but unfortunately in today's world I don't think she could sell many CD's based on her looks. But who am I to say that? Aretha Franklin was a very succesful artist and has the same looks at LaKeisha. She is my girl this year and I am cheering her on til the end. She was very humble with the praise the judges gave her and that made me like her even more. I hope every week one of the guys is voted off...they are all terrible! I would be happy to see the top six be all girls. Thank heavens for DVR...we can fast forward through the guys. I hope this season gets better or it might be my last year as an Idol fan.

Nothing new...
There is not much new going on so here is another shirt from Jestations:
If you can't read it, it says "Placenta Brain"...that is how I feel some times.

Is that her?
Everything that I have read says you should start feeling your baby move between 18-22 weeks. Well I am 21 weeks and 3 days and I am still not sure if what I am feeling is her moving around. I really think that it is but it is not the feeling of "butterflies". This is a new feeling (and it doesn't feel like gas) that I am having so I am just going to say that it is her.
Update:
So it is definitely her I am feeling. Around this same time (10:45 am) yesterday I was feeling the same thing. So today when I felt it I started paying attention. Then I started poking her back when I felt her poke me. She would poke me back again...and my stomach would move outwards! Pretty cool!!! I think I wore her out or bored her because after about five minutes she stopped playing with me.

Crib
This was a nice weekend. It was pretty relaxing and we didn't have to go any where unless we wanted to.
On Saturday my mom came out to our house and took me shopping for a crib. It is something that my parents wanted to buy for us. We are very excited and VERY appreciative! It is a beautiful crib and I can't wait to put it together. My mom and I also got to look through the baby girl clothes at Babies R Us for the first time since knowing we are having a girl. It was a lot of fun and a little dangerous. My mom bought two precious outfits. After shopping we went to dinner and enjoyed some Mexican.
Lance spent the weekend painting the office. When we bought our house I told him that could be his room to decorate. It has all of his sports memorabilia in it. He painted the room "Old Gold" with a navy and white stripe around it...Go Jackets! I have to admit it looks pretty cool! We have a little touch up to do on it but once it is done I will take a picture of it to post.

Blackberry=Devil
This thing is the devil...
Before I start on my rant, let me say how much I appreciate my husbands hard work. He keeps our family going by being such a hard worker. We could not live the way we live or do the things we do with out his dedication. And for that I am truly greateful. I hope his co-workers and boss know how dedicated he is to what he does.
With that being said...I dislike his blackberry greatly! I told him so last night. It seems like the world might end if he doesn't check it as soon as it buzzes. Last night we were watching 24 and Scrubs (we had tivoed both) and the entire hour and a half we were watching them he was typing on and reading his blackberry...all with a smug little grin on his face. I still don't know if he was truly talking to his "co-workers" or to his "girlfriend". Either way...I still dislike it greatly!! If only he got paid by the amount of time spent on that thing...we wouldn't have to play the lottery tomorrow night. I used to call it a dorkfinder when he first got one. Now I will think of it as the devil.
Ok...so maybe this isn't fair. It is just how I feel. I really do appreciate the dedication he has for work.
