Slacker!

I know...I have been a blogging slacker this week. Nothing particular...just haven't gotten around to it. It was a busy weekend again. Lance was out of town, Reese and I went to two parties on Saturday, and then Sunday church and relaxing while waiting for Lance to get home. So here is a catch up on pictures...

Eating applesauce with her hand instead of the spoon she has in the other hand. We are working on using spoons and forks. She likes to have one in her hand and does really well with it at first. But then she realizes she can eat faster if she just uses her hand.

Being such a sweet girl for Mommy while she makes dinner. This particular day she was kind of whiny so I put on her favorite movie and she sat down to watch it. She sat there for most of the movie which is about 25 minutes long.

This is the dinner I was making. It is a healthy meal...but tasted like butt!! Sorry honey!

This is what I sat in on Saturday to fill up. I had been putting off getting gas because of the lines but I could put it off no more. I paid $4.19 a gallon!! Isn't that rediculous?

Reese waiting for gas!

Don't let the smile fool you. Lance was taking her picture because she was being a stinker. She just happened to smile for this one.

Stylin'

Reese's new "belt".

Aunt Leah came to visit yesterday...she bought a brand new Jeep so we had to check it out.

Reese fights me changing her diaper some times so today I pretended to change her babydolls diaper. It has a soft white diaper on so I took it off, pretended to wipe it, and put its diaper back on. Then I changed Reese's diaper. Later she walks in with her babydoll and a diaper. She laid the babydoll on this box and "changed her diaper". It was too cute.

FALL!!

Fall is here and it is beautiful! Reese and I had a lunch picnic outside in the backyard yesterday. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather. I think she loved it too.

After lunch cuddle time.

Being a ham. I told her to say cheese and she did...

Kicking the ball after lunch.

After lunch Reese decided she needed a snack. She went in to the pantry, opened the Cheerios box, pulled out the bag, and started eating the Cheerios.

Here Reese is spinning on the patio.

Torture!

The dentist...is torture! I do not like going to the dentist and I made myself go. Lance and I both went yesterday. It was not fun. I haven't been to the dentist in a while...longer than six months! And I remember why! It is not a fun place to be...it hurts...they are not nice! This was the first time going to this dentist office...probably not going to go back! I need to find a pediatric dentist...for me! That might be better!

911, What's your emergency?

The last couple of days it has been chilly in the morning so I put this sweet outfit on Reese so she would be warm while it was still chilly. I just love the hoodie and the skirt combo on little girls. It is too cute.

After a busy day, Reese and I headed to the park for an afternoon stroll with Amy and Tucker. I let Reese play on the playground for about 30 minutes before they got there and she loved it. When we got home from the park Lance was home with his nephew, Brody. Reese adores Brody. She got the biggest smile on her face when she saw that he was there. After dinner we went outside to play and she just watched him the whole time. She would just laugh at anything he did.

Brody spent the night with us and then went to the Tech game with Lance. Here they are ready for game day with their jersey's on.

While Lance and Brody were at the game, Reese and I went out to my parents house because their neighborhood was having a community wide garage sale. We got some great deals!! I bought Reese a toddler bed (for later) for only $20. It looked brand new! They were asking $30, I offered him $20, and he took it...thanks Dave Ramsey! My mom bought us a beach tent for $5 and a couch (to go in the living room) for $50. I didn't negotiate the couch because all of their money was going to the breast cancer three day walk. At both of the last two places Reese found a toy that she just had to have and both of the people said since we bought something that she could just have it. She is a great negotiator!! Reese's favorite purchase of the day was this fabulous toy. The last time we were at Mitchell's, Reese could not get enough of this toy. She played and played with it. So while we were garage sale shopping we found it for $5 and couldn't pass it up! As soon as I pulled it out of the car at home she wanted to play with it...even before I could get it scrubed down. I cleaned it while she played.

This beautiful weather we are having is ruining our diet and our budget. We knew we could not stay inside tonight so we went to our favorite (or atleast most frequented) mexican restaurant tonight and sat on the patio to enjoy being outside. It was fabulous!!!

I almost forgot to add the most exciting part of the day!! At 7:30 this morning while I was doing the dishes and Lance and Brody were playing Wii, Reese was playing with our home phone. While she was holding it the phone rang so she took it to Lance but he didn't answer it. Lance just assumed the phone malfunctioned because Reese was playing with it. We just replaced our phone because it has been broken forever so no one ever calls our house. I told him he should have answered it because since she had been playing with it, Reese could have accidentally called 911 and they were calling back to make sure everything was ok. After finishing the dishes I headed up stairs to get ready to leave. About ten minutes later there was a knock at the door...the police! I knew she had called 911 and since we didn't answer their call they had to send someone out to make sure everything was ok. We apologized to the officer who was as nice as could be! What a way to start the day!

Messes and More

Reese's new favorite thing is to play with my planner. She pulls it off the desk when I am not looking and "writes" in it and says "ya-ya-ya-ya" like she is reading it. She likes to do this while I am making dinner...which is fine by me because it occupies her...no whining!!

Today we got to watch my friend Amy's little boy, Tucker. He is six months old so I pulled some of Reese's old toys out for him to play with. She had a lot of fun playing with her old exersaucer.

She was so sweet with Tucker. She shared her toys, showed him the ropes, and wanted to give him hugs. I was nervous she would be jealous but she was the perfect little sweetie!

Talking, Talking

Reese has started saying tons of new words since her birthday. Here is a list so that I can remember where we were at this time in her life.

Da-da
Ma-ma (sometimes)
Baw (ball)
Kick
Pop (for when ever anything pops up out of the toaster)
Beep
Honk
Bek-Bek (Aunt Becky)
Gigi
Dow (down...this is new and it is used for up or down)
No-No (for yes or no)
Book
Mick (milk)
Uice (Juice)
Out (for outside)
Eese (Reese)
Mail (which sounds similar to meow)
Per (diaper...sometimes...if she is not saying no-no to her diaper being changed)
Animal Sounds:
Meow
Woof
Neigh
Moo
Snorts like a pig
When she "reads" a book she usually looks for the cats and says "Meow, meow" the whole time.

I know I am missing some other words. But this list will do for now.

Weekend in Pictures

Saturday was Caleb's 1st birthday party. It was fun!

Here is Reese with her birthday party hat on sitting in "Bek-Bek's" lap.

Caleb eating his birthday cake.

Reese wanted to enjoy some too. So after eating some of everybody's ice cream she got her own cupcake.

After the party we came home to watch the Tech game.

Sunday we went to church and took care of some errands that needed to be run. Minus the cup in her face, doesn't Reese look super cute for church? Daddy bought her some new shoes.

Friends

It took a while but they are friends now. Lissa came over to visit and bring us leftovers that her dad made. Reese was so happy to see her. Lissa asked for a hug and Reese gave it to her...with out thinking. She sat in Lissa's lap most of the time she was there. Here are pictures for proof.

Lissa and Reese looking at pictures. Everytime Lance would start to take a picture Reese would turn to him and say cheese.

Proof of a happy baby!!

Finally Friday

It is finally Friday! Reese and I had a busy day yesterday. We went to my cousin's house for a playdate with her little man. He is two months younger than Reese...as a matter of fact his birthday is today! We played outside for a little while on the slide and in the toy car.

Reese seems so tiny to us but when she was next to Caleb she towered over him. She looks like a giant.

Back it up. She liked to sit in this car. She didn't know how to move her feet out of the way so I could push her so she just sat in it and tried to honk the horn.

After the playdate we headed to the grocery store so I could buy some dessert to make for our small group. We ran home, put Reese down for a nap, and I made the Ooey-Gooey Peanut Butter Brownies (thanks to Adrienne's yummy recipe). So after she woke up it was dinner time. As soon as Lance walked in the door, we had to walk right back out to head to small group. Small group was great. It is really nice to be able to interact with other people with similar interests and goals. Reese did well with the babysitter. She is the 17 year old daughter of a couple in our small group. She keeps Reese, her two sisters (7 and 9), and three boys (12, 8, and 5...I think) from another family in our group. Needless to say her hands are full but she gets a lot of help from all of the kids helping to entertain Reese and keep her happy...along with the cats that Reese just loves. Hopefully Reese doesn't make them all crazy! I think Thursday are going to always be crazy but it will make the week that much more entertaining.
Today I feel completely overwhelmed with house work. Lance is going to take Reese out for a little while when he gets home from work so I can fully concentrate on cleaning!! Hopefully I will be in a much better mood when they get home. Then I can enjoy the weekend in a clean house.

My Sisters...

...are heroes!! How lucky am I to have two sisters who are heroes?

Leah is a Paramedic. Her whole life she has wanted to be on an ambulance or something of that sort. When we were little she was ALWAYS watching ER/OR shows where they were cutting some one open or something else equally as nasty! Becca and I would always make her change the channel...I am sure we wanted to watch Saved by the Bell or something equally as stupid! She is brave...at least when it comes to other people. If Becca or I ever got hurt when we were little, Leah was the first one to cry. She is a softy! She would worry about me and Becca over anything else!! She always made sure we were safe and protected. When it comes to her job she knows what she is doing. She hasn't lost that innocents of hurt. Her patients are important to her and she does everything she can to help them...even if they are resisting the help. She has seen some of the craziest things any one can imagine working in the areas of Atlanta that she has. Each person that comes in to contact with her is lucky because she has shown them the size of her heart. She has one of the biggest and softest hearts of anyone I know. She is loving and caring to everyone...some times to her detriment.

Becca is a Resourse Teacher (Special Education). She has always been outgoing and loving. She was always the first of us to do anything. When she decided to be a teacher I knew that was the perfect path for her. Kids love her...probably because she acts like a kid herself. Even though there is a lot of stress that comes with her position I know she is the perfect fit for her kids. With her outgoing ways she captures their attention and respect. She is silly, fun, and crazy. She helps her kids everyday with learning the ways of the world. She wants success for them...sometimes more than their parents do. She too has a loving and caring heart and will do anything for anybody. Her kids will definitely be better people having had her as their teacher.

I am so lucky to have such amazing sisters. They are both unique. As we were growing up we knew that the others were always there for us. If you messed with one of us, you had all three to answer to. I remember on several occasions going out with one of my sisters looking for someone who hurt the other sister to let them know we did not appreciate it. I love them so much and am so grateful to have had the oppurtunity to grow up with them and have such wonderful relationships with them.

Since Thursday...

Since Thursday...we have been busy!!

Friday we were able to go to the pool and spend some time with some new friends. All of the mom's are yoga moms but did not take the same prenatal yoga class as I did. They were all about six plus months behind. My friend Amy who had a little boy in March met all of these moms in yoga and now has started hanging out and meeting with them about once a week...and has included me! So nice and I love spending time with other moms. So Friday they all came over to our pool since I think it is one of the only ones still open. Reese and I hung out there for almost three hours...in the shade of course...and visited. Once we got home Reese's nose was running so much and then she took a two hour nap. She ended up having caught a cold from Daddy and was sick all weekend. But she was a trooper with a yucky nose!!

Poor sick baby eyes!!

Saturday afternoon Reese and Daddy cheered on Tech. Then we headed to the pool again for a neighborhood pool party. Reese still had a runny nose but enjoyed running around the pool...literally. We got to visit with our neighborhood friends Emma, Jenny and Doug for a little while too. We don't get to see them much anymore because Jenny is a teacher so she is back in school now! We miss them!

Sunday Lance stayed home with Reese from church so we didn't infect any other kids with her yucky nose. Then I took Reese to the pool again that afternoon to kill some time and wear her out for Lissa. We finally finished our Dave Ramsay class. We really enjoyed it but are glad it is over!! We are now FPU graduates. Woohoo!

Yesterday we were still trying to dry up Reese's cold...and I think we are finally over it. Now if I can just keep it away! I took some medicine this morning. Stay away cold!!

Last night Reese was playing in between the ottoman and the chair and got tripped up. She ended up like this in the diaper basket I keep on the side of the chair. We were cracking up so she thought it was pretty funny and started laughing too. She is such a mess!

Thursday, already?

This week doesn't seem like it has gone by fast but it is already Thursday night so I suppose it has! This week has been fairly busy but fairly unproductive. I feel like I did so much last week when Lance was gone that this week I have been kind of slack in doing things around the house. Toys and books are everywhere!

Yesterday Reese and I went to the library for story time for the first time. We were walking in to the room and Reese freaked out! She must have thought I was leaving her there. When we walked in there was a lady sitting on the floor with music playing and couple of other moms and babies in the room. She started screaming and would not let me put her down. We sat down and I tried to keep reassuring her that I was not leaving. She eventually relaxed and by the end she was the lone dancer on the mat and chasing bubbles...not really caring where I was. I really enjoyed story time and can't wait to continue doing this at the library. I think it will be very beneficial for both of us.

Today Lance and I both had physicals so Lance took the day off. We each had our physical in the morning. Then we went down to my dad's office to be adjusted and had lunch with him and my grandparents. Tonight we started in our first community group. A community group is similar to Sunday school but you do it on your own time. There are six other couples in our group. Lance and I both really enjoyed getting to know the other couples and I think this will be a great oppurtunity for us. Reese stayed with the daughter of one of the other couples in the group. I dropped her off at their house and while she was playing with the girls I left. She did fine for the first hour and then cried for an hour and a half after that!! Grrr. I don't know what to do to help her relax while I am away. Hopefully she will not do this for the next 18 months...hopefully!!

Tomorrow we are going to enjoy the last few days of summer at the pool! Yeah!

Weekend Pictures

Reese and Claire

Reese getting away with standing on the couch with Justin

Being silly with Justin...she likes to stick her tongue out...and I am sure he was doing it first

An every day occurance...eat, check...make a mess while eating, check!!

So mad...

The other day I was reading the blog of a friend who was talking about how she was "so mad she couldn't see straight". Well twice this week I have been so mad I couldn't sleep!!

The first night I found out someone lied deceived me. I was so upset that someone could flat out deceive me that way that I could not think of anything else the whole night. I layed in bed for hours just getting more mad!!

The next morning I was blogsurfing and saw this verse on a page: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1 Isn't it funny the things we find when we aren't looking? Words that speak to you at just the right time.

Last night our new neighbors decided to have a party...probably a house warming party....which is totally fine! Have a party, celebrate your new house, share it with friends...I am ok with that! The party didn't start around 8:00 PM though. And they were outside, playing, talking, and being loud. There were kids in the back yard throwing the ball (who probably should have been getting ready for bed). One of their balls flew over our fence around 8:15 and they rang the doorbell and knocked on the door (with in two seconds of the other) to ask to get their ball back. Luckily Reese was still in the bathtub and not asleep yet. Lance got the ball for them and threw it back over the fence. I decided to go to bed around 10:30. I fall asleep to noise from outside but trying not to be bothered by it. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't realize how loud they were. 11:30 PM a loud knock at the door. Seriously?? They had thrown another ball over the fence and wanted it back. It is 30 minutes before midnight...why is it necessary to knock on our door for a stinking plastic ball??? I was livid that I was awaken for a ball...luckily Reese did not wake up or I would have been even more mad!! Of course I could not go back to sleep. I was fired up thinking of all the things I was going to say to my neighbors...knowing that I never would say it to them. Over and over I try to remind myself of the verse I read the other morning. 1:00 AM rolls around and I am finally able to fall asleep again. I am still thinking about mentioning to them that I do not appreciate their guests knocking on our door so late at night but I don't think I will go out of my way to do it. If I happen to run in to them in the next few days I may say something.
