Time with my girl

This morning Reese and I got some unexpected alone time. We have workers in the house today so we wanted to get out for a while. Lance went to help some friends and Sam wanted to tag along with him. I have been trying to get out with just Reese for a while now and it just hasn't worked out. So today was the day! We went to get pedicures together and then run some errands. I know she needs that alone time with me more than she gets so today was a special treat!

Checking on Gummy Bear

I had an appointment today to check on our sweet baby. It was a super fast and easy appointment...thank goodness. The kids did a great job and behaved well.

Everything look and sounded great. After the appointment we headed to have lunch with Lance. It was perfect timing. He finished up a meeting right as we arrived. While we waited the two minutes for him we took silly pictures.

We, of course, went to Moe's. The kids always want to eat there. After eating lunch, Reese begged Lance to let us come up to his office. I think they just love all the attention they get there. They got to play in his office for a few minutes and draw on the whiteboard. Always a favorite. After that it was time to head home and they are taking super long naps.

Keeping It Real

When it has been a while since I have blogged, Lance says "It's time for an update!". Well, as I have said before this summer has just been crazy. From the moment we got home from our cruise it has been nothing shy of mayhem. We have so much going on but not much worth writing about. Our house is in utter disarray due to some work we are having to have done. It has been like this for three weeks and I might loose my mind soon.

I feel like I can't keep this place clean. And it is almost not worth keeping it clean due to all the mayhem. I try to keep the kids out of the house as much as possible but you can only go to the pool so many times with out getting burned out.
I also feel like there is a lot of sadness around us right now and I just don't know how to be of help. I want to do for these people but knowing what to do and when is hard. I feel so very blessed for our healthy family and all the blessing we have. I don't want to miss out on the wonderful parts of our lives by dwelling on the sadness.

I think my kids officially think I am crazy. Because of the craziness in our house I think they feel the stress of it too. They have been acting up and just flat out ignoring my directions. This isn't all the time. They are such good kids. But some nights I reflect back on our day and I think I did way more yelling and correcting than hugging and loving.

Hopefully things will slow down just a bit soon. I want to have a lazy, pajama and movie day with no workers in our clean house!! Is that too much to ask?!? Ok, so the house doesn't have to be clean...that would just be a nice bonus.
I really don't mean this to sound like complaints. I know things could be much worse. Thank you God for this beautiful life we live!!

Busy Weekend!

Oh my! I feel like I need a weekend to recover from this past weekend. We have been on the go. Saturday morning was started bright and early. Sam has decided that 6:15/6:30 is his wake up time. He comes in to our room and will occasionally go back to sleep. Usually though he whines to go downstairs until we are all up. After us all getting out of bed, Lance started cutting the grass and I started getting ready for the day. Once we were all ready to leave at 10:30 (thirty minutes late), we get in the car, a mile down the road, we realize something is wrong with one of the tires. Turns out there is a bolt in my tire so we went back home to switch cars. We were finally on the road at 11:00. We drove out to my parents house, dropped Lance and the kids off at the pool in my parents neighborhood, and then headed to a wedding shower for a cousin. After several hours there we were headed back to my parents to celebrate Granddaddy's birthday. We ate pizza and cupcakes and had a lot of fun visiting. The kids were so tired from their busy day. We got home around 9:30 and we all crashed. Sunday, Sam woke up a little late (7:00), climbed in our bed, and we all went back to sleep until 9:00! The only problem with that was we needed to be out of the house at 9:45 at the latest and both kids needed a bath and hair washed. We made it though and were on time to church. After church we headed home for lunch and quick naps because we were expecting Lance's family over at 3:00. We spent the evening with them. The kids had a blast driving the Jeep and watching movies. After everyone was gone we all just sat down and were quite for about 30 minutes...very unusual. Then it was time for baths and bed. We once again all crashed and now we have started another day. I am sitting at Honda waiting on a new tire. :-( The kids are luckily at a friends house so it is quiet and not stressful right now. Hopefully I won't be here all day though!!

Summer Happenings

I feel like our summer has been super busy so far. We haven’t really had any time to just sit and enjoy it. However, the kids have squeezed in some fun stuff during the times that I am making dinner, cleaning up, etc.

One day they decided they wanted to be super heroes. Reese begged me to make them some costumes. She had these extravagant requests that would have involved a lot of time. The problem was they came up with this idea around 4:30. I usually start making dinner around 5:00 and none of my sewing stuff was out. They begged and begged so I said I could do something quick for them but it wouldn’t have everything they were asking for. So I quickly cut out a square of fabric for each of them and sewed it on to a t-shirt.

6-19-12 003

They loved them. They were totally ok with the fact that it didn’t have all the extra decorations that they wanted. Both of them ran around outside like super heroes the whole time I made dinner. What a fun and easy little project that created hours of fun for them.

6-19-12 011

Reese loves any kind of art project and asks to paint quite often. I think Sam enjoys it too but I also thinks he just enjoys doing anything Reese does. They wanted to paint some pictures for Father’s Day. Reese painted a picture of Lance playing golf that we included with his golf gift certificate. On the back we wrote, “This is good for one free day of golf”.

6-19-12 013

They have also been enjoying the Jeep. Reese has really figured out how to drive it and control it. She has had a lot of fun. And Sam loves being her passenger...

6-19-12 016

Well, that is until he figured out how to drive it himself. He climbed in the Jeep and we told him his legs weren’t long enough to reach the peddle. All of a sudden he takes off with a huge grin on his face. He figured out he just needed to slide up to reach. He goes around in circles but loves it the whole time.

6-19-12 019

Hopefully our summer will slow down some and we can just be for a little while. I want to soak up all this time with the kids before summer slips away from us.

21 weeks, 2 days

Today Reese was able to feel Baby Gummy Bear kick! As of yesterday I was only feeling him down below my belly button. He was laying sideways and I really could only feel him inside. I had not felt the kicks from outside yet. This morning we were all laying in our bed and I felt a kick up near the lower part of my ribs. Apparently the little pumpkin turn lengthways last night and now the feet are pointed towards my head. I could see and feel the kicks so I told Reese to feel. I put her hand where the kicks were and her eyes got big when she felt it. She was so excited and yelled to Lance (who was getting ready for work) that she felt Baby Gummy Bear. I tried to let Sam feel too but he is so active himself he couldn’t sit still long enough to feel the kicks. By the time Lance was ready the baby wasn’t kicking around anymore. I can’t wait for the boys to feel the kicks soon!

Father’s Day

Sunday we celebrated Lance and the great daddy that he is. We woke up early and got ready for church. Reese couldn’t wait to give Lance his presents so we did that before we left.

photo 1

We gave him a new sports watch. He didn’t like his old one because he thought the face was too small so I went on a hunt for a larger one.

photo 2

We also gave him a gift certificate to a local golf course. The wife of one of his best friends did the same thing so they could have a guys day.

photo 3

After church we went to a restaurant at the local airport.

photo 1

The restaurant over looks the runway so you can see the planes landing and taking off. We also saw a couple of helicopters come in and leave.

photo 3

We all had a great time together!! We all liked the view and the food.

photo 4

After a quick rest time we headed to the pool for some afternoon fun. We had a great day and are so grateful for all Lance does for us.

Cold Pool Days

It has been so chilly lately that our pool just can not warm up. Today I had no plans of going to the pool but after a stressful trip to the grocery store (Sam decided to tumble out of the grocery cart...no harm done though) I thought it may be ok. I was wrong! The water was so cold!!! Sam didn't have much to do with the water. He mostly played outside the pool. I tested it for about three minutes and was done. However, Reese played in the water for almost two hours. She would get out to warm up and eat her lunch occasionally. In fact, she played so hard that she took a great nap. When she woke up from her nap she thought it was Wednesday. It took a lot of convincing that it was almost dinner time instead of time for breakfast. Crazy girl!

20 weeks!!

Oh my goodness! Halfway! Yikes!
How far along? 20 weeks.

Total weight gain: four pounds at my last visit...I can't stop eating junk food!! Ahhhh!!!

Maternity clothes? Yes. I am loving my skirts and dresses!

Stretch marks? No new ones. I was lucky to only get a few small ones hardly noticeable around my belly button.

Sleep: It is ok. Not horrible but not great.

Best moment this week: getting to see BGB on the ultrasound

Miss Anything? Sleeping on my back and stomach

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Any junk food and cherry coke

Food aversions: Any thing healthy?

Gender: It is going to be a surprise!

Labor Signs: No.

Symptoms: I have a few aches and pains. Nothing major.

Belly Button in or out? In but weird...the kids are obsessed with my belly button

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Looking forward to: Getting to share the baby’s movement with Lance and the kids.

Concerns: Picking out TWO names this time. Lance and I are not good at name choosing and since we have to choose a boy and girl name this time it could cause WW3!!

I feel huge already!! I need to lay off the junk food for real!!

Baby Gummy Bear

We got to see Baby Gummy Bear today!! We had our 20 week ultrasound. Our sweet baby looked perfect and healthy. We are SO blessed and grateful. We did not find out the baby's sex so it will still be a surprise. However, Lance tried to cheat and look when the doctor was in that area. He has his opinion but we don't know for sure. For some reason, now the next 20 weeks seems so long. Here are some pictures from today.

Loves!

Last Swim Lesson

Yesterday the kids had a make up swim lesson that we missed while on vacation. Apparently they had over booked the classes both kids were supposed to be in so they gave them a private lesson together. It actually worked out perfect and if we were going to continue with lessons over the summer I would do it this way. Reese got the attention she needed and new things to practice that she hasn't gotten in the class with multiple kids at different levels. Sam got to try new things as well and they were a little more advanced because Reese was getting to do them. They both did so well!! I was so proud.

Reese’s Ballet Recital

Last night Reese had her ballet recital. Oh my goodness, was it precious!! She is so cute on the stage and just loves it.

5-31-12 002

This year’s theme was American Girls. Each of the graduating seniors represented an American Girl Doll and then the little ones did dances that represented that character.

5-31-12 004

In the beginning, Reese’s class was supposed to be Marie-Grace. The costumes they have matched that dolls outfit perfectly. At the last minute they changed some of the classes up with their doll and decided Reese’s class would dance after the Samantha doll since Samantha is from New York.

5-31-12 007

They danced to the song “Elegance” from “Hello Dolly”. Since this song talks about New York, I guess it went better with the Samantha doll. (Marie-Grace is from New Orleans.)

5-31-12 011

This is Reese’s whole class with the senior, “Samantha”.

5-31-12 016

Reese had a huge cheering section!

Granddaddy and Gigi

Gaga, Aunt Kathy, and Brody with Reese

6-2-12 006

Papa and Grammy

6-2-12 009

We all had a lot of fun cheering Reese on. She looked so beautiful and had a huge grin. She also loved all the flowers she received.

6-2-12 008

Reese and I stayed for the second half of the show. She loved watching the big girls dance. When we were leaving I was just about to tell her how proud of her I was when she looked up at me and asked, “Are you so proud of me?”. Of course, Reesey Baby Girl, I am so proud of you!! You are a beautiful dancer and precious little girl.
