Wedding Fun

Yesterday my youngest cousin, Celeste, got married. The wedding was at 2:00 near my parents house so we headed up there a little bit early so we could eat lunch and get ready there.

photo 6

Unfortunately, Sam and another little cousin didn’t make it to the actual wedding. My cousin, Tricia, and I took the boys on a little adventure during the wedding instead. The wedding was at an environmental center in Gwinnett so there was a lot to do and explore. Tricia brought her phone out with us and snapped a couple of pictures.

photo 1

This adventure for the boys was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. They were inseparable the rest of the day. There is about four months between them and I can’t wait to see them together again.

photo 2

Reese was a dancing machine. She had a blast dancing with Celeste, Aunt Becky, and Lissa. She did not want to dance with me or anyone else.

photo 3

Sam loved dancing too. He was too funny.

photo 7

And, of course, Papa (my grandfather) was in on the dancing action.

photo 8

Gigi and Granddaddy danced with the boys too.

In between dances, Sam played with his buddy, Tommy. It usually takes Sam a while to warm up to him when we are all together but yesterday he was so excited to see him the second we pulled in to the parking lot. He yelled out, “Tommy’s here!”. It was super sweet.

After the reception was over we headed back to my aunt and uncles house for some more visiting. My two monkeys and two other little cousins were so crazy but fun to watch. They played so well together. I think they had hit their second wind and had a blast. I can’t wait to see everyone again soon. What a fun day!

Until BGB is due to arrive. If he comes the way the other two did it will probably be a little more than a month! We are excited!

Terrific Kid

**Warning: This is completely a bragging post so look away if you don’t want to hear my bragging.**

Today Reese was invited to a “Terrific Kids Breakfast”. The other day we received a note in her backpack saying that she was invited to this breakfast but we weren’t really sure exactly what it was. Wednesday her teacher sent me an email with more details. In her email it said that “each teacher picked one student from their classroom that exhibited respect and integrity in the classroom”. She chose Reese because “she exhibits these qualities every day and is so good natured and kind to everyone. She is a pleasure to teach and is definitely a ‘Terrific Kid’!”

Lance and I are so proud of Reese! We definitely agree that she is a terrific kid!!

Mystery Reader

Today I was the Mystery Reader in Reese’s class. I almost got caught walking down the hall but her parapro saw me and said, “Hide, hide!”. The class was just finishing up in the library and were about to leave. I went down the closest hallway and waited until I saw them get closer to their room. Once they were in their room, I knocked on the door. The teacher sent Reese to answer the door and she wasn’t sure what to think. She left her lunchbox in Lance’s car this morning so I think she just thought I was bringing her lunch to her. All the kids were sitting down in front of a rocking chair waiting for a story. When I walked towards the rocking chair one boy yelled out, “You have a baby in your stomach!”. Then they were all very interested in there being a baby in my stomach. Finally they were settled down and I got to read them Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes. This is one of Reese and Sam’s favorite books and they have so much fun when we read it. The class loved it too. They even asked me to read it again a second time. When reading it the second time they all participated in singing Pete’s song. It was too cute. However, I might have got them a little worked up because as soon as we were done reading it was time to head to lunch. They were a little rambunctious walking down the hall. I sat with Reese at lunch and she got to choose a friend to sit with us at a special table. She, of course, chose Hallie. It was too funny sitting with them and listening to them talk. I enjoyed getting to see how some of their day goes and I think Reese enjoyed having me there. What a fun experience! I am so glad Reese’s teacher squeezed me in to read to the class before BGB comes!

Sam’s First School Pictures

Sam had his first go at school pictures a couple of weeks ago and the proofs finally came home with him yesterday. Oh my goodness, he is so cute!! For a couple of days before his pictures I would ask him how he was going to smile. Reese told him all about “Mr. Jim” who would take their pictures. I love the progression of these pictures. I can only imagine that the picture on the top right is the first one and he was a little nervous. On the second one (bottom right) he started to relax and sit up a little straighter. Finally, on the third picture he had his smile down too.

9-26-12

I just love how these pictures capture his personality. He is always a little shy at first and then with in minutes he is being his usual sweet and silly self. I just love this little guy.

35 weeks, 1 day

I guess I look pretty much the same as last week. I promise one day I will wear my hair down again. I really don't remember the last time I didn't have it in a ponytail though. I am going to get it cut next week so maybe at least one day it will look nice.
Fun fact: Sam is standing behind me. Ha! He is leaning on my bed looking at a book but you can't even see him around my big belly.

Getting Excited!

Friday night we had dinner with friends who recently had a baby. Reese was so excited to hold him and had the biggest grin on her face. Even when he started crying she didn't flinch. She is going to be a great big sister to Baby Gummy Bear!!

Some Snap Shots

I have been slack on the posts lately. Nothing too crazy has been going on this week.
*Monday Sam and I headed down to my doctors appointment. On the way home we went to the grocery store. That evening I asked the kids to clean up their toys off the floor. They decided that running around crazy was more fun so I set the timer. Whatever was left on the floor when the time ended would have to be earned back. Reese had to vacuum under the table to get some thing back.

*Tuesday was a rainy day. Sam went to school and I got some things done around the house. I vacuumed the blinds upstairs. I honestly have no idea the last time that was done.

*Wednesday Sam had gymnastics. I forgot about it last week...he was glad I remembered this week. After gymnastics we met some friends at the mall. The kids played for a little while and then we all ate lunch. That night I went to dinner with a couple of girls from our church group.

*Thursday I went to Amy's house and hung out with some girls while Sam was at school. It was a nice little break. Thursday night was a make up soccer practice for Reese. The girls had a lot of fun at practice and did some fun new games.

*Today Sam and I ran some errands and went to the grocery store for the third time this week. I still need to go one more time today. Tonight is pizza and a movie night!

We are excited about our weekend!

34 weeks

Don’t mind the picture below. I didn’t even take it until after I put the kids to bed tonight.  I think because I didn’t take pictures of myself with the other two kids I am shocked at how big I am every time I see my profile picture. I can’t believe we only have six weeks. I had an appointment today and everything seemed great. I scheduled the rest of my appointments today too. I have an appointment in two weeks and then go every week after that.

34 weeks

I feel good…tired, but good. People still act like I should be having my baby any day now. I am always surprised at what comes out of peoples mouths!

One Month In

*Today, Reese has been in school for one month.

*She is waking up easier than in the beginning. I usually go in her room, turn on her lamp, pull the sheets off of her, and tell her it is time to get up. After that I will leave her room and give her time to get moving. On a good day she will get up, get dressed, and then head back in to my room. Other days I have to go back in and tell her to get moving.

*Over the past month she has already learned so much. It is truly amazing what her teachers have done. She is exceeding their expectations on sight words so far. It is so neat to see her try to spell certain words. In the writing lab she drew a picture of her and Sam playing and then wrote “my buther and me plae to gethe”.

*I love to hear what she does each day. She is usually pretty good about giving me a run down about what they do. I think her favorite special is Art.

Baby Dreams

Yesterday I was 33 weeks. I have had three dreams about this baby during the entire 33 weeks. Twice I have dreamed that I have twin boys and once I have dreamed about a single boy. I don't remember dreams with Sam. I am sure I had them I just don't remember. With Reese I dreamed about a curly blonde headed girl even before we knew she was a girl. In these dreams about twin boys I don't really know/remember what they look like. The closer we are getting to meeting this baby the more anxious I am getting to find out who this baby is. I actually can't believe we didn't find out the sex of this baby. We keep telling ourselves it is going to be so exciting to hear that news on delivery day though!

First Fall Soccer Game

This season Reese is playing U6 soccer. The Y made some changes to the program and the U6 is now playing 3v3.

9-10-12 003

Last year in micro soccer is was basically every man for himself. All of the kids were on the field and it was just a bunch of kids running around following the ball. They said they changed this league to 3v3 so the kids had more of a chance to touch the ball.

9-10-12 014

Reese seemed to have a lot of fun playing. She scored four times in the two games they played. It was so humid and hot that she kept complaining about sweating though. Ha! I told her to get used to it.

9-10-12 015

Her coach is a young college student. She made the whole team these cute ribbons for their hair.

9-10-12 020

I think Reese is really going to enjoy this season…as long as she isn’t sweating too much…silly girl!

Busy Saturday Fun

We have had a very busy and fun weekend! Saturday morning Sam and I headed to a birthday party for one of our little friends. The party was at a playground right next to a train track. Each time a train went by, the kids would run over to the fence to watch it.

photo 1

Sam had so much fun playing on the playground and watching the trains. Reese wasn’t able to make it to the party because she had her first soccer game of the season. (Separate post to come.)

photo 2

Saturday night Lance and I were able to go to the Tech game. We bought the cheapest season tickets we could and our seats proved that. Our seats were on the second to top row. However, we enjoyed our seats and had a great view of the field and the city.

photo 1

The weather was so nice. It was pretty cloudy and windy but with the sun going down behind us it made the city look beautiful.

photo 2

This was the view behind us over looking some of Tech’s campus. Being this high up made it super windy. By the time the sun went down it actually got chilly. I wasn’t complaining though because I have been so hot and sweaty all summer.

photo 3

We ended up leaving during the third quarter because Tech was winning by a good bit.

photo 4

When I was getting the kids ready for Saturday I realized they didn’t have any Tech gear. When I told Lance he said, “Well, that will change today!”. While at the game we bought them each something to wear for game days. They were super excited for their new shirts.

Fall Soccer

Reese had her first soccer practice of the fall this week. I think she is going to enjoy playing once again. I am excited to see how it goes. Unlike last year, this year they play 3 v 3 with no goalie. They had a little practice game and it took a while for the girls to figure out what exactly to do. Here are a few pictures from practice:

Braves Game

We took the kids to their first Braves game on Sunday. Even though our seats were in the shade it was so hot! There was no breeze so we were pretty miserable. The kids seemed to have fun visiting with my family though. I'm not sure how much of the game they actually watched. Sam enjoyed the tomahawk chop and the wave. Lance took both kids to run the bases too. I didn't get many pictures. In fact, I didn't get any of Reese.

Sam doing the wave...
