Great-grandparents

Today the kids and I went out to visit Papa and Peggy/Grammy. We were welcomed by Tucker, their happy little pup. Hayes was in heaven as soon as he saw him. The other two are always a little skittish around him. We played with puzzles, toys, hung out in their camper for a little while, and ate lunch together.

Papa even made them his "World Famous Milkshakes"!!

We all had a great time visiting and Hayes tried to bring Tucker home with us! ;-)

Valentine's Day

The night of the 13th, Lance and I attended our second re/prom. We had a blast once again!! We spent the day celebrating an early anniversary by working out together (which we never get to do anymore), getting massages, and getting pedicures (Lance's first and I think last...he did not love it). Once we were ready, we met up with two other couples and went to dinner at JCT Kitchen. After dinner it was off to the dance where we had a blast!

The night was full of fun and so many laughs!! We thought we were still young and didn't get home until 1:00am.

Since we were kid-free, we wanted to go to our old church. They were having their first service in their new building and because it still has a piece of our hearts, we wanted to be there for that special morning. We were out the door before 8:00, grabbed breakfast at Starbucks and headed to church.

We thought for sure we were going to be early and then we came around the corner to this...

Traffic moved quickly and we got our old seats! It was such a blessing to be there!

We had a friend give us a tour of everything and it really was amazing. Every thing was perfect and so well thought out.

After church, we headed off to get our kids and enjoy the rest of our day.

Dear Children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.

Pictures

We have a babysitter whom I have known since she was seven. We became very close with her family at our old church and have loved their family since then. They live about 35 minutes away from us but on nights that we know we won't be out late, we ask her if she wants to babysit because our kids adore her and her sister. Some times both girls come together. Sarah, the older of the two, became interested in photography several years back and does a really amazing job with the talent she has. This past time when she babysat for us she came a couple of hours early and we took the kids to the "train park" so that Sarah could take some pictures for us.

There was a train parked on the tracks and we thought Hayes would be over the moon to get to see it so up close...but he wasn't thrilled. Most of the time we were having to pull his fingers out of his ears because he was so scared it was going to blow its horn.

Sarah worked really hard to get some great pictures...I am not sure if she is ever going to want to work with kids again though...she will probably stick to her friends for now...it is hard work to get kids to all look and smile at the same time!

This was the second the train started moving and blowing it's horn. It was pretty funny to see Hayes's reaction but he survived.

This is my favorite shot that she got!!

I love the color on this one!

This girls knows how to pose!

Sarah in action...

After we finished taking pictures we let the kids play on the playground for a few minutes...

I love these pictures and I love Sarah for finding her passion and pursuing it!

More Shenanagins

Lunch with Gigi and Gran after church one Sunday

Target antics...Chewbacca and Yoda jackets cracked us up!

I love that Sam brings home readers every day and I love to see him read

Lunch on the square...when we left church it was much warmer than when we decided to sit outside and eat!

But the cold can't stop these guys from eating yogurt after lunch!!

One night we had a sitter and Hayes asked if he could sleep with Reese. They have done this a couple of times since then too. When we ask him if he wants to sleep on the bottom bunk in Sam's room he says no but he likes to sleep in Reese's bed!

Carline is always an adventure with this silly goose.

We created a new rule for this school year that there is NO technology during school days (unless of course it has to do with homework). It has been the best decision for our family because it has made the kids get a little more creative and made me less of a bad guy every single day...they just know the rule now.

Sam came home with a girls phone number...

We surprised Reese with letting her stay up late one Friday night after we put the boys to bed. Lance had just finished reading the first Harry Potter with her and so we watched the movie. It was much better than I had anticipated. Now they are reading the second book together.

After our last indoor soccer game, we took Reese and Hallie to Waffle House for dinner.
