Reese's Big Day

When Reese was six years old, she prayed to have Jesus live in her heart. There were a lot of big questions coming from that small little girl and Lance and I did the best we could to answer them over the last three years. This summer we finally realized that she was ready to be baptized and share that good news with everyone.

Sunday was the big day and it was so special. Lance and I spent time writing out what we wanted to say to her in that moment and spoke those words to her as she sat in that {warm} water. We were surrounded by family and friends. Her 4th grade church class was standing there all around her and supporting her. I am so glad they were all in there with her because they are the people who get to do real life with her as she grows up. They will be the ones who keep her accountable in her decision to follow Jesus.

Lance was able to baptize her and she had a grin on her face the whole time. She popped right up out of that water and gave him a big hug. It was special indeed!

Since most of our family drove a good bit early that morning we decided to host everyone at our house for lunch afterwards. We had a great time visiting with everyone and celebrating Reese's big day!
