Nashville and back

This past weekend we went to Nashville to visit our friends Marshall and Cornelia. Our friend Justin came down from Kentucky as well. It was a quick trip but a lot of fun visiting with them. We drove up late Friday night. Of course as we were about to walk out the door a realtor called and said she wanted to show the house on Sunday. So we had to clean the house so it was in showing style. More on that later. We got there late...around midnight their time. Reese was wide awake as we walked in the door. They have a dog named Belle who was very excited to see new people and Reese was equally excited. I finally got her to sleep around 1 am. She ended up just sleeping with me in the bed and Lance slept in the twin bed across the hall. The next morning the guys got up and went to play golf and us girls drove around town. It started raining so we couldn't do the shopping we wanted to do. When the guys got home Cornelia and Marshall made a fabulous lunch for us all. We had planned on going out to dinner that evening but it started storming so they made another fabulous meal to have at the house. We played a round of Scrabble after Reese went to bed. Brag on my honey...he got 36 points by putting an X on the board! Sunday we had lunch at a place called Monell's. It is family style, country, heart attack inducing food. Basically you sit at a table with your party and other people you do not know, the waitresses bring you food and they don't stop. You pass it around and everyone shares. It was delicious but we joked on the way out that we should have all taken a Crestor before we went in. After lunch we said our goodbyes and headed home. Reese did great while we were there and in the car! Today Reese and I have been trying to get back in to the groove of things. I got an email from our realtor about the showing on Sunday. It was a second showing. The people were torn between our house and another house. They couldn't find anything that made either house better than the other but they decided they liked the other yard better so they put an offer on that house. Oh well...what are you gonna do?

Sweet Baby

Today Reese and I met my friend Amy at the park. Amy just had a baby last Tuesday the 18th. Little Tucker was pretty much the exact same size as Reese when she was born...only one ounce less. When I saw him today I could not believe that Reese had ever been that size. It is amazing how much they grow and learn in such a short amount of time.

You have got to be kidding...

Lance, Reese, and I worked hard in the yard on Saturday. Lance cut the grass and cleaned up a bunch of mess in the back yard. Reese and I did some planting. It was a beautiful day!!

Now...today...it is snowing!!!!!!! Yes, snowing. It is not heavy but if it kills my work I am going to be so mad! It has snowed three seperate times. If you look outside it is gorgeous. The sky is blue and only partly cloudy. Where the snow is coming from, I have no idea!!

Uncontainable

As Lance reported yesterday, Reese is now crawling. She is officially uncontainable. I can no longer put her in one place and know that she will stay there...I can no longer sit her on my bed and know that she will not fall off...I can no longer lay her on the changing table with out her rolling around trying to move...I can no longer leave the outlets unplugged...I can no longer leave things out in her reach...Wow...Our world just totally changed...but it is amazing!! Below is a video of her crawling...and of course going right towards something she should not be playing with. Lance said she has been eyeing all of these things to get in to for the last eight months so she is making up for lost time. Don't ask me what is going on with her hair...it is uncontrollable. It curls on top and will not lay down at all. It looks best with a bow in it but now she has learned that the bow is there and pulls it out and puts it in her mouth!

Crawling update

Reese can crawl a few "steps". She has moved her arms and legs in order to move herself forward. I am not sure she realizes she can do this yet but she does it occasionally...especially when she really wants something...that she shouldn't have. Any day now she will be moving all over the place. Babies R Us here I come for a gate!! I will try to capture her crawling on video and post it. Most of the time it happens when I am not expecting it...and she doesn't crawl on demand.

Eight Months

Reese is eight months old today. She weighs 20 pounds, 5 ounces with clothes on.

Trying So Hard

Reese is trying so hard to crawl. She is doing a great job of getting up on her knees and rocking forward. She has even figured out that she has to actually move her hands forward but she hasn't figured out that she needs to move her knees as well. She usually just ends up doing a belly flop on the floor. She even decided that she needed to practice this morning at 4:00. I heard her wake up and hoped she would just get herself back to sleep. But 20 minutes later she is calling out to us. I go in to her room and she has backed herself in to the corner of her crib up on all fours and slapping her hand on the bed. Once I got her out of bed she needed to put in some more thinking about crawling before going back to sleep. She stayed awake until just at 5:00. She will get it soon!!

Busy Week Number 34

It's been a busy week again! Last Tuesday we had a playdate with Caleb from church. No pictures for proof but we did. He is crawling around everywhere and pulling himself up. Reese just watched him in awe. We fed both of them lunch while we were at their house and Reese and Caleb "talked" the whole time. It was so cute. Wednesday we ran a few errands but nothing else too exciting. Then Thursday we had another playdate with my cousin and her son Caleb. We had a Caleb filled week. I do have some pictures below for proof of that date. Friday, nothing too exciting except for the gym. Reese is doing so much better there now! Saturday we had swim lessons in the morning, had a family breakfast at Chick-fil-A afterwards, went shopping at the mall for mommy some much needed clothes, and then met my family for dinner to celebrate Becca's 25th birthday. Man, she is getting old!! Sunday we went to church where Reese is doing much better as well. Then we went to watch Lance's nephew's baseball game. He did a great job!! Now we are back to the grind again for another fun week!

Hold Up

I'm so confused. Did you watch Lost last night? I was totally caught off guard at the end...and a little confused. Now I was just looking at my favorite Lost website and am even more confused but should be enlightened.

1) As I am looking through last nights recap on the site I discover that Michael is Ben's spy...what?? I totally didn't catch that. I just thought Michael had been held captive by the boat and put to work.

2) Apparently the tombstone said that Jin died in the crash so they were actually flashing back in his life. What? I totally thought they were flashing forward but I couldn't figure out how he died. Apparently the year of the dragon was in 2000. Hmmm... And I thought Jin was going to be one of the Oceanic 6!! Who do we have now...Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun? The spoilers I read were wrong!!

3) The girl that was reading the book that was upside down is the one that jumped overboard. Man I really need to pay more attention!!

4) Paulo and Nikki were on the screen shot when Sun was turning the TV off...what?

I guess if you don't watch Lost you have no idea what I am talking about here. If you do watch Lost, can you help me out?? I think I am too literal to watch this show. I don't think deep enough about what I am seeing.

Recap

I don't know how a week goes by without a new post. This past week wasn't too busy or crazy. Thursday we got to go to the park again because it was beautiful. We are going to try to get out there again today! Friday we went to the gym because it was rainy and cold. Reese didn't cry at all while we were there!! Woohoo!! Saturday we spent the day cleaning, watching movies, and running errands. Oh yeah...and we bought a Wii. Lance stayed up all night playing with that...I am sure he is thinking about it at work right now. Sunday we were finishing up cleaning the house because we had an Open House that afternoon and suddenly realized we had lost an hour! We began racing around the house to finish cleaning and getting ready for church. That is not the way to start the day. It seemed everyone at church felt rushed Sunday morning as well. Sunday afternoon we went out to my parents house and spent time on their Wii with my mom and Becca. This morning as I climbed out of bed my hip was hurting...and I remembered all of my Wii playing over the weekend. Isn't that crazy that you can be sore from playing video games??

You know it is a gorgeous day when Dobbins has it planes out flying around. It looks small here but this is one of those "Operation Dumbo Drop" planes.

We bought this jumping seat for her...we will see how she likes it!

Oh yeah...and she learned how to push herself up to a seated position this weekend.

Itch, Itch

I am itching for summer time! Today was another absolutely beautiful day. Instead of the gym, Reese and I ventured to the park again. We got there around one and didn't leave until right before three. Reese fell asleep shortly after I started walking so I kept walking until she woke up. I think I read some where that the park has two miles of trails so I figured I got about six miles of walking in today! I wish we could do that every day. Reese's face is a little pink tonight. I feel bad about letting her get a little too much sun. Tomorrow, after the storm blows through, I am going to go buy her some sunscreen. I had a sun hat on her today but it was so windy that the hat kept blowing off. As we were leaving I ran in to a friend who is about to have a baby. She is due on the 17th...and said she is ready for the baby to come. She looked so cute though! I wish we could have walked together today. Once she has the baby we will meet up to walk through the beautiful park! I can't wait to go back there again.

Family Fun Day

This afternoon after church, lunch, and nap time we went to a new park near by. It was a beautiful day so we could not pass up the chance to be outside. This park was just completed in the last six months or so and it is amazing. There is a huge trail that wraps around it for walking, running, biking, rollerblading, or what ever you feel like doing. There are so many open areas to fly kites, shoot rockets (like we saw today), run, play, etc. There are two playground areas that are massive. There are swings, playsets, and what ever else a kid could want to do. The park is so popular that parking is ridiculous. There has to be over 100 parking spaces and they are all full, people are parking on the curb and at the neighboring school. Last time we were there we just drove through because we could not park but today we drove around until we found a spot. Reese LOVED being outside, relaxing in her stroller, swinging, and people watching. We will definitely make time to go there more often. It was such a great family outing!!!
