Reese's soccer season ended today. She had a great season. Her team was in the u10 division. The team played that level in the fall but since Reese was cheering this was her first season in u10. The differences moving up to u10 at the Y were that there is one more man on the field, the field is bigger, and they have an actual ref. Reese seemed to adapt pretty well and I thought she had a great season. She typically plays forward. She scored at least one goal each game (except today).
This weekend was the tournament to end the season. Unfortunately, Reese was sick and the doctor said she could not play. She has been doing breathing treatments every four hours since Friday and taking two different antibiotics.
Yesterday her team had two games. She sat with them on the sidelines and was in charge of subs.
After the second game, Reese told her coach she wanted to play in the Sunday games. We said we would see how she was doing on Sunday but she seemed fine enough. But when we were getting ready for the game, she was crying and saying her stomach hurt. I think all of the medicine was hurting her belly.
Luckily there are several little brothers on this team. We brought tons of toys and the boys hung out together.
She sat out for about 15 minutes of the start of the game and then decided she wanted to go in. She still wasn't feeling great and played for about five minutes total of the game...thus, no goal but she did get the assist on the one goal her team scored.
They lost this last game and ended their run in the tournament. It was a great season and we just love her coach.

Hayes's Last Day of School
Today is Hayes's last day of school. I keep saying to him, "I can't even believe it!". I really can't believe that his first year of school is over. He had such an amazing time in school and really grew a lot. I walked him in on Tuesday to give his teachers their gifts. When I was chatting with his teacher she asked me if I remembered telling her at the beginning of the year that Hayes was our firecracker at home. She said, "Well, we always laughed about that because we just didn't see it and we didn't believe you. But we have started seeing it lately. Not in a bad way! He is just starting to show us who he is and is totally comfortable here." I'm not sure exactly what he is doing to show his true self now but it might be best that it is the end of the year.
Remember at Meet and Greet, Hayes wouldn't let me take his picture with his teacher? Well I finally got his picture with them today at pick-up! This was his lead teacher...
And the assistant...
They were super sweet with him and he loved them. Finally he started calling them Mrs. Last Name instead of by their last name only.
Every morning when I would drop him off I would say, "Have a great day! Be a sweet friend. Follow directions." and he would say, "And don't scream at my teachers!" Every.single.morning and it cracked me up every time! That started back in October when he tested the boundaries. His teacher said they were going to sit down and listen to a story and he yelled out "No!". She said, "Hayes we don't scream at our teachers." When he got in the car that day, he told me what happened and I explained again that we don't scream at our teachers. She never even brought it up to me. I finally asked her about it a few weeks later and she laughed and said it was no big deal and that he was just testing to see what would happen if he did that. I was mortified but never brought it up to him again. And then the next time he had drop off, I ran through my list at good-bye and he added his own little line and has done that every day since then.

Mother's Day
I feel so blessed to get to celebrate this day with my kids. We started the morning off at church and then headed to Six Flags for a quick visit. We weren't sure what to expect crowd-wise. It was a little busy but nothing too bad and definitely not as bad as Christmas. The first thing Reese wanted to do was ride the Georgia Cyclone. She had never ridden it before and she loved it. I am not a huge fan because it is so bumpy and jerky but I loved getting to ride with her.
While we waited a short 25 minutes for that ride, Lance took the boys to Toon Town to ride a couple of rides. We walked up as they were getting on this ride. It was Hayes's first time on this particular one and he loved it too. Sam had ridden it before and couldn't wait to ride again. It cracks me up because Sam loves the Mind Bender but loves this slow kid ride just as much.
Next Lance wanted to go ride Goliath but since no one is tall enough to ride with him he went by himself. While he waited for that ride, I took the kids to drive the old cars. Hayes and I rode together so he could drive.
And Reese and Sam rode together and switched drivers half way around.
We still had a few minutes to kill so we rode the hot air balloon ride that swings around in a circle...dizzy mama.
Perfect timing because once we were done there Lance texted that he was done and we met at the Scream Machine. Reese and Lance got in line to ride this ride and I took the boys back to the car because we were heading home. We waited for the other two and then picked them up at the front of the park on our way out.
We had friends over to cook out that night and our babies were the only ones we could get to play outside! It was the perfect night to enjoy outside but the other kids wanted to play inside. We ate outside on the patio and really enjoyed our time all together. The daddies did a great job taking care of everything and made it all so special.
Hayes could spend hours outside...especially when he gets to play baseball.

We got home from Six Flags and I snapped some pictures of my cuties who call me "Mommy"!

It was the perfect Mother's Day! Thank you Lance and kids for making me a mommy!!
Sports Day
Saturday morning we got up early and went to breakfast as a family...sort of an early Mother's Day breakfast. After breakfast we headed to Brody's baseball game that was about 20 minutes from our house. We were only able to stay for about an hour but it was fun to get to see him play. Hayes loved watching the big boys play.
From his game, we left for Reese's soccer game that was at noon. They finally played a team that was more of an even match for them. They have been getting beat pretty big time most of the season so this was a fun game. At one point during the game, the parents were all so excited because we were so happy for our girls. Reese said they were tied at the end of the game, but I don't know because I never keep up with the score.
I wish I had a better picture below but this is from my phone. It is Reese's coach congratulating her on a goal she scored (one of two). He had been yelling at her to get in to a different position on the field but she didn't hear him (or ignored him) but she ended up being in the perfect spot to get a goal. He was telling her good job and apologizing at the same time. Too funny!
As soon as her game was over, we headed home for a quick lunch and then Reese and I went to the high school soccer game. Our girls are in the play offs and this was a quarter-final game (I think). We have had so much fun watching them play. They are so good and so aggressive. It has really made Reese love soccer and want to do better so she can play when she is older. Our girls won and I am hoping we can make it to the next game as well!

That's a wrap
Sam's baseball season wrapped up this week. They went in to the tournament tied for second but lost right away. Since it is double elimination that dropped them in to the loser bracket and they did pretty well during all of those games. They ended up having to play the first place team (who also lost one) and were eliminated from the tournament. It was a fun game to watch though. Hayes is so cute cheering for Sam and giving him pointers.
Lance was an assistant coach again this year. Sam struggled with batting this season. He struck out a lot. We kept trying to work with him and give him some pointers but he always said "I KNOW!" and wouldn't take our advice. Finally before the last game Lance said something to him that clicked. I told him if he would get a good hit we could get ice cream. He got two GREAT hits. So ice cream was in order the next night after dinner!
These boys all played a great game but lost in the end.
Now on to summer ball!

More of April
As I was looking through my pictures from this month, I have a ton of pictures of Hayes sleeping on the couch. Like I have said before, he doesn't take naps anymore which is fine. He must have been growing this month though because he would just fall asleep on the couch and it cracked me up.
One night I was making dinner and these guys decided to play Head Bandz. It was so cute to see them trying to play this with Hayes.
Hayes wanted to carry the basket at the grocery store. It was a quick trip in but no trip is complete with out a free cookie in the bakery.
Hayes got to have several playdates this month. I was folding clothes on my bed and Hayes and Hadley ran in being silly in the mirror.
I surprised Sam at school one day to have lunch with him.
Reese had field day on one day.
And then Hayes got to have another play date later in that same day.
The next day Hayes had a Mother's Day tea at school and he looked so cute.
But before school, we ran to see Sam's class participate in some of their field day activities.
Hayes even got to play musical hoops with them. He thought he was big stuff.
Another mom sent me this picture of Sam after a water game they played.
Hayes and I walked over to his school and I was just going to walk him in. Claire pulled up and asked us to walk Hadley in too. They looked so cute that I had to get their picture.
Finally it was show time. Hayes was so cute singing on stage. He wouldn't look over at me at all. When he would glance quickly, he would make the funniest faces like he was embarrassed.
I LOVED every second of seeing him up there.
After their show, they fed us a sweet lunch. I totally forgot to get pictures during lunch but snapped this selfie as we were leaving.
The next day we went to have lunch with Reese. The kids always ask to get ice cream at school so we made a rule that they can get it on the last Friday of the month. It just so happened that was the day Hayes and I went so he got to get some ice cream too.
Later that day Hayes walks up to me and said, "Look! I'm mommy!", while carrying my phone, keys, and sunglasses. He makes me laugh.
Reese's sweet soccer coach has a ritual that he takes the team for Menchie's after one game each season and they love it.
The boys love this ritual too!
