Another Baby Shower

Saturday I threw Baby Shower number 2 with three other girls. This shower was for one of my best friends. She is expecting a baby girl in March. She got so many wonderful gifts and we had a lot of fun. This shower's theme was blocks.

Here is the drink/favor table. The blocks in front of the favors say "Take One".

This is the cake Amy bought. I love it and think it was perfect with our theme!!

Here is the gift table. It was almost full even before any guests arrived. The blocks say "gifts".

Diaper cake with the baby's initials on top.

Crayon Roll up

While we are at the doctors office the other day I was trying to entertain Reese any way I could. Finally I pulled out paper and a pen from my purse and let her color. I decided it would be nice to have some crayons in my purse for such occasions since there is paper on the table in the patient rooms. I remembered seeing a "Crayon Roll-up" online so when I got home I went on an internet scavenger hunt...and found this.

So I made one. This is the first one I made. This is what it looks like from the front.

This is what it looks like rolled up and tied. I gave it to our neighborhood friend, Emma.

The next day I made another one. It was much easier to make since I had already made one.

Here is this one rolled up. I rolled it so the crayons were on the outside this time.

I love these!! What a great idea some one had when coming up with it. It fits perfectly in to any purse when it is rolled up and you can make them as cute as you want!!

And here is Reese helping me out. She is such a good helper!!

Cute as a button

No, this post is not about Reese. Today I hosted a baby shower and the theme was "Cute as a Button". Several little things had buttons involved with them but definitely not over done.

The first thing that started the theme was the invitations.

I made a "Daddy Diaper Duty Toolbet" for the Daddy to be. It had diapers, wipes, burp clothes (with buttons on them), and several other must-haves for baby. The ribbons below tuck back in to the pockets and I sewed them on with buttons.

The favors didn't really have any buttons but I love how they turned out. They are jars of m&ms with flowers on top.

I made a diaper cake as my gift. It has buttons on the ribbon.

I also decorated a photo album with buttons for the big sister to be.

And here is Reese enjoying her time before the shower.

I think the shower went well and they got some great baby gifts!! We can't wait until the baby gets here!!

An Eventful Day

Starting 5:30 AM I hear, "ma-ma, ma-ma". I think to myself, she can't be awake already. Get out of bed to go see why she is awake. Pick her up out of bed because she is obviously wide awake. Feel her arm is soaking wet up to her elbow. Put my hand on her bed and feel it is soaking wet. Turn on the light. See throw up all over the bed and her pjs...horrible smell hits. It is Outback's chicken fingers. Wake Lance up. We tag team cleaning up. Put her clothes in the wash. I bathe her while she shivers because it is freezing at 5:30 in the morning in our bathroom. Wash her hair...which she hates as usual. Dry her off, put new pjs on, turn Elmo on because we are not going back to sleep right away. She watches Elmo...all 50 minutes. We try to close our eyes. 6:30, put her back in bed. She goes to sleep...as do we.

Once we are up and moving again, I head out the door to a baby shower for a high school friend. I decorated the burp cloth to the right as one of her gifts. You can never have too many burp cloths and if you have to have them why not make them look cute? Lance stayed home with Reese who takes a three hour nap for him. After the shower I met them at the mall to buy Reese some pants because she does not have many. As we are about to head out we see Reese's favorite people...Tuck-Tuck and Me-me. She was super happy about seeing them!!
By bath time we have changed two super stinky diapers, had a couple of breakdowns, and her hair still smells of a hint of throw up. Hopefully Reese's tummy will feel better tomorrow!! And her hair won't stink any more!!

Gobble, Gobble

Today Reese and I went over to my friend Meredith's house. Reese was sooooo good. I brought her Elmo movie over to keep her entertained some while the mommies made treats.

Doesn't she look like such a big girl sitting on the couch?

In between movie watching, she showed the boys the ropes around the toy box.

And then played with Tuck-Tuck in a diaper box.

Here was our creation. We made turkey cupcakes. Aren't they so cute?

On the way home Reese was pooped out so she took a quick nap while in the middle of reading her book.

The Dress

Today some friends (Meredith and Amy) and I took our little ones to have their pictures made by 519 Photography. I saw on her blog the other day that she was running a halloween special where there was no sitting fee for a 15 minute session. So we took her up on it and can't wait to see the pictures. I put Reese in her cute little pumpkin dress and here it is...

I can't take credit for the design of the dress because I saw it on Etsy for sale and thought we could make the same thing for much cheaper than it was being sold for...so we did...with a couple of changes.

Sneak Preview

Here is a sneak preview of Reese's dress. I made a matching dress for her baby doll yesterday. Reese's has a few other special things on it that would have been too much for the baby doll.

Gettin Crafty

I have asked for a sewing machine for Christmas this year because there are so many cute things that I want to make. On Saturday my mom and dad came over and brought my mom's sewing machine so that I could learn how to use it. We (mostly my mom) made a fabulously cute Halloween dress for Reese. Once I get some better pictures I will post the dress. I also decided that I could make my own hairbows for Reese. This way I could make them to match different outfits.

Here is the first bow I made out of ribbon I found laying around the house. The nice thing about this one is that it will match anything!!

While my mom was working on Reese's dress I made this Halloween bow for our friend's daughter, Maddie.

And then yesterday I made this bow for Reese. It is very similar to Maddie's in color but the style of the bow is different.

Ok...now that we are all caught up for the most part, I think this will be my last post for the day.
