Silly head

Reese thinks it is so funny to put things on her head. I suppose that is my fault because when we are playing I will put her toys on my head to see if she notices. Which she always does...nothing gets past her. She will immediately take the toy off of my head and laugh (because I am the funniest person she knows). So now she always wants to put her toys on her head. And it doesn't stop at the toys. Now we have moved on to food. I think I started something I am going to regret. If you see Reese after breakfast, it is pretty fair to assume she has syrup or eggs or some other food in her hair. I promise I wash her hair every night after she does this but if you don't see her right after bathtime then you are missing out on some clean hair!! Today we went to lunch with Adrienne (which was great by the way) and Reese decided to style her hair with syrup before we went. It is the new gel. Tonight we had B4D (breakfast for dinner) and she added eggs to the syrup mix. Needless to say her hair was greasy, shiny, and crusty after dinner. Yum! Maybe I am not feeding her enough and she is saving some for later.

In this picture you can really tell how long her hair is getting. I don't know what to do with it. It hangs in her eyes and most of the time she won't keep a bow or ponytail in her hair. I am constantly brushing her hair out of her eyes. And don't suggest cutting it because that is NOT going to happen for a long time!!


Doesn't she look like such a big girl in this picture from today? I tried to hide the syrup with a bow.

All in one day

Here is what our day's usually look like...

In the morning. So sweet. Plays nicely. Does what is asked of her.


Playing in Daddy's shoes. She loves to play with our shoes. If we are upstairs, she pulls them out of the closet. If they are lying around, she brings them to us and wants to put them on.


While I am making dinner, she has a melt down. She probably did not take a good nap, she is hungry, and is having a bad case of seperation anxiety right now. Yes, I know, I am right there...she wants to be held...I don't know why she thinks I am going anywhere when I am just standing at the stove. If I walk five steps away from her, she freaks out! I will be happy when this stage is over!! It is stressful. Notice the tears and the snot...that is a good cry!!


Finally it's time to eat!! Something she does well!! This night it was pasta for dinner.


I am not sure how much actually ended up in her belly...most of it is on her belly. Luckily I had the foresight to see this coming! She eats naked a lot of nights.


I thought it might be best to clean her off in the sink. We ended up taking an early bath because she was so dirty!!


For some unknown reason Reese has been waking up in the middle of the night this week. Last night she was awake off and on for two hours. She would be quiet long enough for me to fall asleep and then she would cry out again. Hopefully tonight we can make it a full night with out crying. I know Lance would like that! And hopefully that will help with the meltdowns during the day!

Messy Girl

How can one cute, sweet, perfect little girl make such a mess?? Yesterday for breakfast I gave her scrambled eggs and jelly toast. That doesn't seem so messy, right? Well it was! I am not a fan of being dirty and definitely not a fan of cleaning up dirty. If Reese gets really dirty, Lance has to clean her up. I hate for food to get under my fingernails and that seems to happen more than you would think when trying to clean Reese up.

Finally I got her to smile...I think she was happy to be so dirty.


So imagine the challenge I faced when deciding to let Reese feed herself yogurt. I sucked it up and gave her the spoon. She did pretty well considering it was her first time attempting to scoop the yogurt out and feed it to herself.

Eating and Drinking

Reese has been eating and drinking like a big girl lately! She is not too interested in me feeding her from a spoon and bowl. She wants to be able to put the food in her mouth by herself. Last night we ate tacos for dinner so we gave her a tortilla, some taco meat, and cheese. She ate all of the meat and cheese but wasn't too interested in the tortilla. This morning she ate a whole waffle and then let me feed her some Gerber fruit afterwards. I think that is going to be the trick...let her feed herself first and then I can come in for more after she is done. She also likes to drink out of her cup by herself...finally. She is growing up so fast!!

Vegetables

Here is the video from Reese eating vegetables for the first time. She had green beans here...and they were disgusting!!

My sweet potatoes video would not load so I will try that one later!

Sleeping and Eating

I think Reese is getting back on her sleep schedule...at least I hope she is. Last night I laid her on her back to go to sleep, she woke up a couple of times, I went up around 10 to check on her and she was sleeping on her belly. The doctor said that if she rolls over in her sleep it is ok to leave her that way because she can now move her head around on her belly. She slept so well on her belly! Around 5:30 she was kind of whining but still asleep so I stuck her pacifier in her mouth and she was fine. At 7:30 I heard her "talking" as she does when she wakes up to start the day. I went in to get her out of bed and she was on her back. She doesn't know how to roll from her belly to her back so that was a first!! How exciting! I don't know how she did it but every time she was on her belly today I could tell she was trying to figure it out again. She gets so frustrated when she can't do it. I am so thankful that she is doing better about sleeping. Hopefully we can get her on a good schedule now that we shouldn't be going anywhere for a while.

We started Reese on vegetables today. She ate green beans and gagged every time I put them in her mouth. It was hilarious. We have a video but I have not loaded it yet. I will soon...

Congrats to my cousin Michael and his wife Zoe...they just found out they will be having a little girl in May!

GAG REFLEX

When my sisters and I were younger we all went to the orthodontist together. The first time you go they make an impression of your teeth with this gooey, gummy kind of stuff that taste really nasty and it goes far back in your mouth. I imagine everyone gags the first time this happens because you don't realize what is happening. The doctor tells you to breathe through your nose to help keep you from gagging. Occasionally they will make this mold again to see the progression of your mouth and in between these times the doctors hands are always in your mouth doing something. After a while you get used to this and are not gagging anymore. Well, most every body does...except for Becca. On the top of Becca's chart in bright red and bold letters it said GAG REFLEX. This was for each assistant as well as the orthodontist to know that she would gag every time they did something and to be prepared with a vomit bucket. We thought this was hilarious. I tell this story because I think Reese is going to be the same way. I have started feeding her oatmeal now and EVERY time I put the oatmeal in her mouth she gags and then pushes all of the cereal out of her mouth. I am not sure why she does this because she did not do it with the rice. I don't know if it is the texture or the taste. I make it pretty soupy to see if that helps. We will see. I video taped feeding her this morning but have not loaded it yet...I will soon.

Cereal

Wednesday was the first day introducing cereal to Reese. It was quite an experience for both of us. I had to figure out how best to give her the cereal and she had to figure out what to do with it. I video taped (I guess it is not really taped anymore since it is digital but you know what I mean) feeding her on Wednesday but all of the videos are long and will take forever to load. I did a shorter one today that is not as funny but you can see her being a big girl and eating (and squealing...not sure why she squeals the whole time...I guess she is excited to be eating). She ate ALL of her cereal today. I think she liked it because it was a little thicker than the last two days. After I put the cereal in her mouth she sticks a finger in her mouth to suck on. I think that helps her swallow. The first day all of the cereal ended up on her bib but I think she actually swallowed most of it today. Enjoy!

Little Ceasars!

A Little Ceasars is moving in to a new shopping center down the street! I am so excited! I love Little Ceasars. We used to eat it every Friday night when we lived in Snellville. Ever since starting college (nine years ago) I have always hoped to find one near by and never have. Finally!! I can't wait!
