Finally...

this "historical" election is over. We can move on now. Accept what is in front of us. Support our new leader. And pray for this country and the people who run it. I am at peace with our country's decision because I know ultimately God is in control.

Long Weekends

I love long weekends. It is so relaxing when you realize on Sunday that you do not have to go to work the next day! This weekend was nice and relaxing for us. Friday night was just a quiet night at home. Saturday I got my haircut, went to my cousin, Celeste's, high school gradutation party, and then had dinner at Chops with Lance. We figured we don't have too many nights left to do something alone so we had a date night. I had a gift card to Buckhead Life so we lived it up. After dinner we went down to Atlantic Station to go to Stone Cold Creamery for dessert...but it was WAY to packed to be enjoyed so we left and went to Bruster's. We ran in to some college friends there which was fun. Sunday and Monday were both relaxing and quiet days at home. We ventured out to the pool for a little while both days. The water is still freezing!! Anyways, the weekend is almost over so I am going to enjoy laying around for a little while longer. I have definitely started to notice myself slowing down and getting tired faster.

Weekend Review

We had a good weekend this past weekend. Friday night we didn't really do much. I did laundry, made dinner, and we caught up on some of our shows. Then we decided to watch "Happy Feet" but I fell asleep as usual. Saturday morning we went to Chick-fil-A for breakfast. We don't do that very often so when we do it is a nice treat. Then Lance's sister had a baby shower for us. It was our first shower. His sister did a really nice job and we received a lot of great things for the baby. After the shower we went home and dropped everything off at the house. We had planned to go to the Bluegrass Festival so we got directions and headed out. First we went to dinner at Five Guys Burgers. I had read a review in the Cobb County Magazine that it was really good and there was one close by our house. Everything there is fresh and made to order. It was pretty good...really fattening...and possibly heart attack inducing...but we enjoyed it. Then we went off to find the Festival...when we drove by the first time it didn't look like any one was there so we thought we were in the wrong place. When we realized we were in the right place we decided not to go because it didn't look like what we were expecting. So we went to the mall to walk off our dinner and then went to Brusters to add some back on. When we got home we put together the Play Yard we received as a gift at the shower...it was harder than you would think...definitely harder to put together than the crib. Sunday was just a normal day. Went to church in the morning, took a nap, Lance did yard work, and I went to the grocery store. Nothing too crazy. We don't have many more weekends to ourselves so we need to enjoy these times while we can.

Well,

1) Not many times will you hear me say this but I am glad it is Monday. I need my Yoga!
2) I am so grateful to have an amazing husband. He is such a hard worker and I appreciate everything that he does for us. He is such a strong and confident person. I am so lucky!!
3) As I said in my profile, I am grateful to be able to learn lessons from my Sunday school kids. This week it was not necessarily anything they did but from the lesson I was teaching them. From Galatians 6:9, Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Basically it was teaching them not to give up, God will help them to start again. So many lessons can be learned from that. You reap what you sow.
4) I had a doctors appointment today. I only gained a pound and a half which is perfect! My blood pressure was normal...which was surprising. haha...It is always normal but like I said...I need my Yoga!!

Happy Monday!

Hard Worker

Lance is such a hard worker. I am so proud of the work he does. He has had to work so much this week and has hardly complained about it. I hope that he can get everything taken care of at the office before the baby comes so that he can take some time off with me with out having to worry about things there. Thanks for being such a hard worker Lance!

Sleepy

I wish I could take a nap during the day. I would happily curl up on the floor under my desk to sleep for 30 mins. I bet I would work better! What if offices had a nap room? It could be a room full of cots. You would bring your own pillow and blankets. Every 30 minutes there could be a rotation of people in there. If only...

So cold

It is so cold today! It has been beautiful these last couple of weeks (minus the pollen) and now it is going to be freezing this weekend. Hopefully this is the last cold blast before summer gets here. I love spring and fall!

Hopefully this cold weather does not hurt the plants we planted a couple of weeks ago...that would be a bummer.

Happy Easter everyone!!

Crib

This was a nice weekend. It was pretty relaxing and we didn't have to go any where unless we wanted to.

On Saturday my mom came out to our house and took me shopping for a crib. It is something that my parents wanted to buy for us. We are very excited and VERY appreciative! It is a beautiful crib and I can't wait to put it together. My mom and I also got to look through the baby girl clothes at Babies R Us for the first time since knowing we are having a girl. It was a lot of fun and a little dangerous. My mom bought two precious outfits. After shopping we went to dinner and enjoyed some Mexican.

Lance spent the weekend painting the office. When we bought our house I told him that could be his room to decorate. It has all of his sports memorabilia in it. He painted the room "Old Gold" with a navy and white stripe around it...Go Jackets! I have to admit it looks pretty cool! We have a little touch up to do on it but once it is done I will take a picture of it to post.

Random Thoughts

Today's blog is going to be a bunch of thoughts all together. I didn't have time to get these out yesterday so here goes...

I had a great weekend this past weekend. It was super busy but I got to enjoy time with people that I don't get to see all that much. Friday night Lance and I spent time together having dinner and doing laundry. Not much fun but it has to get done...especially when we were not going to be home the whole weekend. The greatest thing about Friday night was looking through the mail and seeing an anniversary card from my sweetest cousin, Lissa, who is always so thoughtful and caring. She always sends cards for every occasion. I love her so much!! Saturday, Lance and I met Adrienne and Erik for breakfast/lunch at West Egg Cafe. Adrienne always knows of the neatest places to eat. Lance and I were headed to Ikea after that so we invited them to come along. We wanted to see what kind of baby furniture they have. It turns out all they have looks like it should be in a church nursery. No luck there. After that I was planning on dragging Lance to Old Navy for more maternity clothes shopping and then to Intimacy's (time for a new bra). We decided it would be better for the boys to go to a movie and for Adrienne to come shopping with me. So we did that. It was a great day and Adrienne really helped me find some cute clothes that I was happy with. I think Lance put her up to it... Then Sunday after church we headed over to my parents house to spend some time with them and have dinner. Both of my sisters were able to be there which is rare. It is always fun to see my family. I wish I lived closer to them so that I could see them more often.

Last night I get home from yoga and there is a present sitting on the counter for me from Lance. Now if you read Lance's blog yesterday he said he did not get me anything...he lied. To go back a little, we have picked out how we want to decorate the nursery. It is the sweetest little pattern we found at Babies R Us. Anyways, there was this wall shelf that really pulls the whole room together but it cost more than I would like to spend. I told Lance I could make one just like it. Apparently he didn't think so so he bought the shelf for me for our anniversary. It is so precious. I can't wait to finish decorating that room!!!

This morning the most amazing thing happened to me at the gym. While waiting in line for a shower (silly new year's resolution people are still around) the girl in front of me said I looked like I was really in shape. She said I had great arms. That was the perfect thing for her to say to a pregnant lady who is bummed about her stomach hanging over her pants. Apparently she didn't notice that. I just want it to actually look like I am pregnant instead of like I need to work out!! It will come...the belly I have showed up over night so I have no doubts of it continuing to grow.

We are having our house cleaned today. I can't wait to get home and enjoy it being so clean!! I will let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

Finally...

We finally did it...we traded in Lance's truck last night. Buying cars is so stressful. Hopefully we are done for a while!! We ended up getting him an '03 Passat. It is really nice and hopefully we won't have any problems with it. I am so glad that is off of our plate!!

On a baby note, I got a call on Wednesday from the Drs. office to let me know the results of the blood test from the last appointment. Luckily everything looks good. The baby does not have spina bifida. Technology is amazing.

Sixteen days until we find out the sex of the baby! I can't wait!!!
