No Matter What

She loves me.

If I am grumpy,

She wants to play.

If I am sad,

She smiles at me.

If I am moody,

She snuggles up to me.

If I am happy,

She runs (or crawls really fast) to me.

If I am laughing,

She laughs with me.

She loves me.

No matter what.

Peek-A-Boo

Reese has learned how to play Peek-A-Boo. However, she usually misses her eyes. It is too cute though...check it out.

Nine Month Check-up

Today was Reese's nine month check-up and two shot day. Today she weighed 20 lbs, 6 oz (70-something percentile), is 28 1/4 inches long (70-something percentile), and her head is 18 inches around (91 percentile). She has definitely slowed down her growing and I think her weight has slowed because she is moving around so much now. They pricked her finger first and tested her iron and did a lead test. She was not happy about them pricking her finger. After the prick, they gave her two shots. Even more unhappy now. The nurse left the room and then came back in and Reese started crying again. She didn't want that mean old nurse near her. Poor baby has had a rough day after such a busy weekend!

On Friday night Lance's cousin Claire came to visit with us. She was coming in town for a bachelorette party so she spent time with us as well. Saturday my mom and I had a wedding shower for my best friend from high school, Adrienne. It was fun and went off pretty well. Lance and my dad took Reese to her first Georgia Tech football game...it was a practice game. Then we spent the evening with my parents. Sunday we went to church as normal and then Lance's parents and nephew, Dalton, came over to visit with us and Claire. It was a family filled weekend!

We put Reese down in the grass and she acted like such a girl...she didn't want to put her hands or feet down in the grass.

Picture Stories

Here are some stories through pictures.
I found Reese like this the other morning. On the left side of the picture you can see her "aquarium". Before I moved her mattress down she would turn it on all of the time because it was so close to eye level. Now she turns it on occassionally. This particular morning I found her with it on and she was watching it like a TV. She was leaning up against the side of the crib and looked too cute not to photograph.

Puppy Reese. Since she has been trying to cut those top two teeth she carries everything in her mouth. She looks like a puppy when she is running through the house.

Some afternoons she sleeps really hard. She slept for two hours before I took this picture. She was so sweaty when I got her out of bed.

We had to get Reese a new carseat this past weekend. She was getting too big for the infant carrier. I think its max was 22 pounds and 30 inches or so. I am not sure how tall she is but she is definitely creeping up on the 22 pounds mark!

And she loves it! The first few days we had it she fell asleep almost every time we put her in it. She doesn't fuss as much any more when I am trying to put her in the car. I think she really loves all the extra space she has. The only problem is there is no where to hang toys from so she gets bored after she throws her toys down.

I bought her some new bows the other day. This one lasted less than a day. Some how she threw it out of her stroller while we were at the park with out me knowing. The next lap around I looked for it but it was no where to be found. A dog must have found it.

I bought her some food that has chunks in it. She didn't hate it but she wasn't quite sure what to think. She ate it all so it must not have been too bad. Here she has a small carrot stuck to her face.
Reese will be nine months old tomorrow! Wow!!

More Teeth

Reese has finally cut her top teeth. The right one is definitely through the gums and the left one could be...I can't tell yet. Hopefully we can get back to our normal sleep routine now. Cutting teeth is a lot of work and keeps Reese up during the night!! I will try to get some pictures of them to share as soon as I can snap one!!

Good Bye Old Friend

You were caring. You were comforting. You were loved. You were strong. You were used a lot. You were there when I couldn't be. You were gracious. You were kind. You will be missed. But don't worry. We will see you again some day.

We have retired the swing for the time being. Reese is too big for it now. It was definitely a life saver and we loved it!!

Work Hard, Play Hard

We have been busy working hard around here!! This past week we have painted the living room and dining room and we completely cleaned up outside. We planted flowers and shrubs, laid pine straw every where, cut the grass, and probably a ton of other stuff I am forgetting. We had an agent caravan (similar to an open house but for agents) on Tuesday so we wanted to get things situated nicely for that!! Lance put in a ton of time and effort in to getting most of this done. He worked hard so he is getting to play hard today. He is at the Masters Practice Round today with some people he does business with.

Before: The backyard after the monsoon came through...we have a lake in the back yard...and what looks like a mudslide

After: The lake has dried up...and you have to appreciate all of the pine straw on the hill!

My work around the front tree...there were more flowers...they died during the snow!

Now for play...

We had to move the mattress down in the crib after this stunt...

Tornado Reese...I love to pull everything out of the basket and chew on the nail clippers

Our new view

Those sweet eyes...I can't count the number of compliments I have received on her eyes...if we could get a dollar for every time we would have her college paid for by now!!

Accident Prone

Now that Reese is crawling around she is very accident prone. She has run in to the same corner of the same wall at least five times. She has a bruise on her left cheek and a scratch and bump on the side of her head from these collisions. We might need to bubble wrap the entire house like the new Snapple Water commercial.

When Becca was little she would trip over chalk lines...Reese could very easily be the same way!!

Laughing

It is fun to get Reese to laugh by tickling her or playing with her but it is funny when she just laughs on her own. She has a new thing where she practices laughing. I hear her doing it while she is playing or just riding in the car. Too cute and oh so funny.

This is the only picture I got of her in her Easter dress. My mom got a bunch of cute ones so I will have to get those to share.

Sweet Baby

Today Reese and I met my friend Amy at the park. Amy just had a baby last Tuesday the 18th. Little Tucker was pretty much the exact same size as Reese when she was born...only one ounce less. When I saw him today I could not believe that Reese had ever been that size. It is amazing how much they grow and learn in such a short amount of time.

Uncontainable

As Lance reported yesterday, Reese is now crawling. She is officially uncontainable. I can no longer put her in one place and know that she will stay there...I can no longer sit her on my bed and know that she will not fall off...I can no longer lay her on the changing table with out her rolling around trying to move...I can no longer leave the outlets unplugged...I can no longer leave things out in her reach...Wow...Our world just totally changed...but it is amazing!! Below is a video of her crawling...and of course going right towards something she should not be playing with. Lance said she has been eyeing all of these things to get in to for the last eight months so she is making up for lost time. Don't ask me what is going on with her hair...it is uncontrollable. It curls on top and will not lay down at all. It looks best with a bow in it but now she has learned that the bow is there and pulls it out and puts it in her mouth!

Crawling update

Reese can crawl a few "steps". She has moved her arms and legs in order to move herself forward. I am not sure she realizes she can do this yet but she does it occasionally...especially when she really wants something...that she shouldn't have. Any day now she will be moving all over the place. Babies R Us here I come for a gate!! I will try to capture her crawling on video and post it. Most of the time it happens when I am not expecting it...and she doesn't crawl on demand.

Trying So Hard

Reese is trying so hard to crawl. She is doing a great job of getting up on her knees and rocking forward. She has even figured out that she has to actually move her hands forward but she hasn't figured out that she needs to move her knees as well. She usually just ends up doing a belly flop on the floor. She even decided that she needed to practice this morning at 4:00. I heard her wake up and hoped she would just get herself back to sleep. But 20 minutes later she is calling out to us. I go in to her room and she has backed herself in to the corner of her crib up on all fours and slapping her hand on the bed. Once I got her out of bed she needed to put in some more thinking about crawling before going back to sleep. She stayed awake until just at 5:00. She will get it soon!!

Busy Week Number 34

It's been a busy week again! Last Tuesday we had a playdate with Caleb from church. No pictures for proof but we did. He is crawling around everywhere and pulling himself up. Reese just watched him in awe. We fed both of them lunch while we were at their house and Reese and Caleb "talked" the whole time. It was so cute. Wednesday we ran a few errands but nothing else too exciting. Then Thursday we had another playdate with my cousin and her son Caleb. We had a Caleb filled week. I do have some pictures below for proof of that date. Friday, nothing too exciting except for the gym. Reese is doing so much better there now! Saturday we had swim lessons in the morning, had a family breakfast at Chick-fil-A afterwards, went shopping at the mall for mommy some much needed clothes, and then met my family for dinner to celebrate Becca's 25th birthday. Man, she is getting old!! Sunday we went to church where Reese is doing much better as well. Then we went to watch Lance's nephew's baseball game. He did a great job!! Now we are back to the grind again for another fun week!

Recap

I don't know how a week goes by without a new post. This past week wasn't too busy or crazy. Thursday we got to go to the park again because it was beautiful. We are going to try to get out there again today! Friday we went to the gym because it was rainy and cold. Reese didn't cry at all while we were there!! Woohoo!! Saturday we spent the day cleaning, watching movies, and running errands. Oh yeah...and we bought a Wii. Lance stayed up all night playing with that...I am sure he is thinking about it at work right now. Sunday we were finishing up cleaning the house because we had an Open House that afternoon and suddenly realized we had lost an hour! We began racing around the house to finish cleaning and getting ready for church. That is not the way to start the day. It seemed everyone at church felt rushed Sunday morning as well. Sunday afternoon we went out to my parents house and spent time on their Wii with my mom and Becca. This morning as I climbed out of bed my hip was hurting...and I remembered all of my Wii playing over the weekend. Isn't that crazy that you can be sore from playing video games??

Well, here are some pictures from this past week.

One of Reese's new favorite things to do is sit in front of her toy baskets and take everything out.

Here she is in the downstairs toy basket.

At the park...look at all of the green behind her. You don't see that much around here anymore. Her sunhat stayed on long enough for me to take this picture. She kept taking it off and throwing it on the ground.
You know it is a gorgeous day when Dobbins has it planes out flying around. It looks small here but this is one of those "Operation Dumbo Drop" planes.

We bought this jumping seat for her...we will see how she likes it!
Oh yeah...and she learned how to push herself up to a seated position this weekend.

Learning, Learning, Learning

Reese is learning so many new things lately. It is amazing to watch her grow and learn every day. Sometimes I just sit and watch her play and study her toys. I would love to know what she is thinking.
Things she has learned or attempted recently: swimming in the pool, swinging at the playground, waving, saying da-da, and clapping. She is trying really hard to crawl right now. When I sit her on the ground she leans to the side and rocks. She wants to move so bad!!
Today Reese is seven months old. She had her montly doctors visit to get a vaccination and she did very well. She only wimpered and teared up when she was stuck with the needle. She didn't even cry!! She weighed 19 lbs, 11 ounces with clothes on so she is probably closer to 19 pounds.
I was going to load some new pictures but I think Blogger is having some issues and they will not load...I will load later!

Busy Busy

Where did the week go? Last week was super busy so I never had a chance to post. I have no idea what we did all week but the week went by so fast!! Here is an update of what has been going on.

Last Monday we had a playdate with my cousin Elisa and her son Caleb. I forgot to take pictures but we had a great time visiting with them. Tuesday was Super Tuesday so Lance left work a little early and we went to vote. The rest of the week we played hard and worked hard. Friday I joined LA Fitness again and then went to the mall to find an anniversary present for Lance. Saturday I had an event at church that I had to go to so Lance stayed home with Reese. We are still trying to get her to drink formula from a bottle and she did not want anything to do with that. When I got home Lance had given her some food so she was happy. I love coming home and see her get excited when I walk in the door!! Sunday we went to church and then to lunch with my family. Now it's Monday again. Reese is napping and I am about to get my gym clothes on so we can head that way once she wakes up. Hopefully she will be happy in the Kids Klub long enough for me to get a decent work out in. I know it will be tough at first but hopefully she will enjoy it after a while!!
