Three beach days and a wedding

We are back from a beautiful, long weekend at the beach. We went to Pensacola Beach on Thursday and came home today. Each day was gorgeous with the usual rain Friday night. It was really windy most of the time and the tide was too strong to get in the ocean...not to mention the million jelly fish that were in the water thus a million more washed up on shore...as you can see in the picture to the right. Friday we just spent the day at the pool and waiting for Becca to arrive. That evening my aunt, uncle, and grandmother came and had dinner with us. Saturday we took Reese over to the beach for the first time. She ate the sand more than she played with it. Then we spent more time at the pool that afternoon. Reese LOVED being in the pool whether she was being held or in her float. Sunday we played more in the pool and then went to my cousin's wedding. It was a gorgeous wedding and ceremony...and probably the fastest wedding I have EVER been to. Reese only squealed once during the ceremony so that was a bonus. The reception was a lot of fun. Reese started getting sleepy around 9:00 (Atlanta time) and eventually fell asleep while the party was going on. Then today we made the six hour trek back home. Reese was so good in the car both ways. We know she was miserable and just wanted to be out of her carseat. We are happy to be home and we are glad to have had such a wonderful vacation!!

Here are some pictures in no particular order!! Hopefully I can get more to show from my mom's camera! We always grabbed it first to take fabulous pictures!!

Nashville and back

This past weekend we went to Nashville to visit our friends Marshall and Cornelia. Our friend Justin came down from Kentucky as well. It was a quick trip but a lot of fun visiting with them. We drove up late Friday night. Of course as we were about to walk out the door a realtor called and said she wanted to show the house on Sunday. So we had to clean the house so it was in showing style. More on that later. We got there late...around midnight their time. Reese was wide awake as we walked in the door. They have a dog named Belle who was very excited to see new people and Reese was equally excited. I finally got her to sleep around 1 am. She ended up just sleeping with me in the bed and Lance slept in the twin bed across the hall. The next morning the guys got up and went to play golf and us girls drove around town. It started raining so we couldn't do the shopping we wanted to do. When the guys got home Cornelia and Marshall made a fabulous lunch for us all. We had planned on going out to dinner that evening but it started storming so they made another fabulous meal to have at the house. We played a round of Scrabble after Reese went to bed. Brag on my honey...he got 36 points by putting an X on the board! Sunday we had lunch at a place called Monell's. It is family style, country, heart attack inducing food. Basically you sit at a table with your party and other people you do not know, the waitresses bring you food and they don't stop. You pass it around and everyone shares. It was delicious but we joked on the way out that we should have all taken a Crestor before we went in. After lunch we said our goodbyes and headed home. Reese did great while we were there and in the car! Today Reese and I have been trying to get back in to the groove of things. I got an email from our realtor about the showing on Sunday. It was a second showing. The people were torn between our house and another house. They couldn't find anything that made either house better than the other but they decided they liked the other yard better so they put an offer on that house. Oh well...what are you gonna do?

Jacksonville Visit

We went to Jacksonville for a quick visit. We left here Saturday morning shortly after 4:00 am so that Reese would sleep most of the way. She slept until 7:30, was awake until 9:00 or so, and then was back to sleep for another couple of hours. We arrive in Jacksonville around 11:00 and were very proud of the way our sweet baby behaved on the way down. We visited with Lance's grandmother all day Saturday and then went to dinner with his cousin, Claire, that evening. Reese was very good despite not being at home or on her routine the whole day. She was able to take a few naps here and there but was pooped by bedtime. Saturday, Lance went to the Jaguars game with his uncle and they had a blast!! Claire, Reese, and I were able to spend some wonderful time together shopping. Claire is seriously one of the most sweet and compassionate people I have ever met so is was great spending time with her. Lance and I truly hope we can raise Reese to have some of the same compassion that Claire has!! Saturday evening was spent at Lance's aunt and uncles house for a dinner party. It was so much fun...they have fun friends and were great hosts! We were planning on leaving that evening to drive home so Reese would sleep the whole way home. We did her normal bed time routine by giving her a bath, putting her pjs on, and feeding her. As soon as we were in the car she was asleep and slept the whole way home! She cried out a couple of times but was still asleep...she was probably just telling us she was uncomfortable and ready to be in her own bed. We finally arrived home around 3:00 am, got Reese to bed, and slept until 7:30. I fed Reese and then we slept again until 10:15. Today has been so relaxing...we haven't gotten out of our pjs all day! Don't you just love those kind of days? We are so glad we got to visit with Lance's family and that they finally were able to meet Reese.

We're back!

We are back from Florida. It was a very nice and relaxing trip. Thursday we were able to spend some time with Lance's family in Jacksonville and then we drove over to Tampa that evening. We hadn't planned on getting to Tampa until Friday but the hotel had room for us to come on Thursday so it was perfect. We spent the entire day at the beach on Friday. Lance fried in the sun even though he sat under the umbrella most of the day...he wasn't very good at applying sunscreen. The funniest and most entertaining part of our time at the beach was when we were eating lunch a bird flew down and took a bite out of Lance's sandwich. He was none to happy but looking back it was pretty funny! That evening we went to dinner with my cousin's...it was a kid dinner...the adults wanted to have dinner alone. We learned that we will always be part of the "kids table" even when we have our own kids. We are totally fine with that because I love being around my cousins. Saturday we spent most of the day by the pool and then attended my cousins wedding. It was beautiful and perfect! I will post pictures from this weekend soon.

After a long drive home yesterday we realized that the air conditioner upstairs was not working. We slept downstairs to stay cool but we both slept horrible. Hopefully Lance can get some one out to the house to take care of the AC...and hopefully it will not cost too much money!

This morning I had a doctors visit. Every thing is great...and I didn't gain too much weight on vacation. The baby's head is pointing down which is perfect. The doctor actually let Lance feel her head today. Pretty cool! I have my next appointment in two weeks and then I will start going once a week after that! Time is flying by and it is pretty scary! We have our childbirthing class this Saturday...it is going to be like going to work because it is from 9-5.

This is going to be a long week. I had two three day weeks in a row. Putting in a five day week and then an all day class on Saturday is going to be painful!

Florida...here we come!

We are going to Florida for the weekend...YEAH! Tomorrow we are going to Jacksonville to visit Lance's family there and to have Lance's uncle work on his mouth (he is a dentist). Then Friday we are headed to Tampa. My cousin is getting married there so we are using the oppurtunity to get in some beach time! I am excited to have some time away! Hopefully it will be a great weekend! I love the beach...it makes me happy!

We are back... : (

We went to Nashville for the weekend...and now we are back working. It was a nice little trip...short but nice. The Nashville area is beautiful. It was so green and SOOO MUCH land. You would never see that much free space in Atlanta. The developers are gobbling up every inch here. Friday night we made it up there around 4:30 (our time), had dinner and ice cream and just hung out for the evening. Saturday we went to Hillsborough Village and had lunch, went to a replica of the Parthenon but didn't want to pay to go inside so we looked from outside, drove through a couple of nice areas around Nashville, and then headed downtown. We walked up and down Broadway looking in some of the shops (which was very interesting). We eventually settled on heading in to Tootsies which is a bar with an open mic (every bar on Broadway had live music). Coincidentally there was a girl at the table next to us that was pregnant and she commented on how fun it was to be pregnant in a bar. I didn't mind it though until this nasty guy started smoking next to us. Then we moved on. After Tootsies, we went to Rippy's. They had an outside patio on top of their restaurant which was perfect. The weather was so nice we enjoyed being outside. We then met my cousin and his girlfriend for dinner down the street at Big River Grill...it is owned by Gordon Biersch. It was nice to be able to see them and hang out for a little while. After dinner we headed over to the Predators game (Go Thrashers!). We had a super obnoxious lady sitting behind us but it made for good conversation in the car on the way home. Overall everything went by so fast but we really enjoyed our time in Nashville. If it wasn't for the snow, I might enjoy living there.

Our Days Off

Lance and I took yesterday and today off of work to get some things done around the house and then go to Nashville for the weekend. Yesterday, we were going to paint the nursery but Lance decided he didn't want me "around the fumes". I think he just wanted to get it done on his own. So I said that was fine...I don't mind going shopping. I ran to Home Depot for some stuff we needed for the house and then off to the mall I went. I spent a little more money than I was planning on but I REALLY need some clothes. I only have five pairs of pants that I can wear. After the mall and painting, we went to have lunch with my dad and get adjusted. When we came home Lance finished up some painting and I took a nap on the couch. Hard day...I know. Then off to a silent auction and dinner. It was nice but a little boring. Today we had planned on leaving for Nashville around 11:00 but seeing as it is 10:57 and I am typing this in my pjs and Lance is out cutting the grass, I don't think that is going to happen. However, I did actually do something productive today besides spend money! I put together the crib...ALL BY MYSELF. It was super easy! As you can see below, the crib and paint look fabulous!
