Hayes's Last Day of School

Hayes had his last day of school on Monday. He was so excited about it!

I asked him to show me his happy dance.

He is so cute!

His class had a pizza party and then an ice cream truck came at the end of the day.

Hayes is so funny about his teachers. I know he loves them but he refused to take a picture with them. Finally I was able to talk him in to it. This was his assistant teacher and we just loved her. We see her around a lot because our kids go to the same school and her sons play baseball at the same ballpark. Whenever we would see her Hayes would act all shy and not want to say hey.

This was his head teacher and she was great. She was pretty strict with the kids and expected a lot of them. It was a nice balance to have and Hayes learned so much! They did Zoo Phonics this year and each night Hayes would ask me to "ask me my animals". We do five letters each night. (A...Allie Alligator says...; B...Bubba Bear says...)

Hayes and his best buddy from class. I'm so glad they get to be in class together again next year.

End of Season Wrap-up

We have wrapped up all Spring sports...and it was crazy! Getting everyone to where they needed to be and on time took some coordination and juggling but we had fun!

Last weekend Sam's team had their end of season tournament. It turned out like his whole season...they lost every game but I think Sam enjoyed it. The weekend before the tournament Sam got his first goal. I missed seeing it because I was over at Reese's field watching her game but Lance saw it and was so proud!

After their tournament, they had a little pizza party.

This past weekend Hayes's team wrapped up their run in the baseball tournament. It was double elimination and on Saturday morning they lost their second game. The boys seemed to really enjoy playing and were super excited about getting a trophy (some for the first time ever). Hayes is going to play summer baseball and he can't wait. He really loves baseball.

After Hayes's game, we went straight to the soccer fields for Reese's soccer tournament to get started. Of course, there was still a little baseball playing while at the soccer fields.

Reese's team played great during both games on Saturday. They looked great and worked great together. Reese scored two goals in each game.

But Sunday they played a team that killed them each time they played them during the season. The game started out not looking too terrible but they were definitely out played. They ended up losing that game and ended their run in the tournament. This was the first game all season that Reese didn't score a goal.

What little brothers do while their sisters play soccer in the hot sun...

Reese has been blessed with an amazing coach for the last four years. He cares so much about them and about them growing in the game! We are so grateful for his influence on her!

Six Flags Cheer Competition

Reese's last competition of the season was held at Six Flags. It was a last minute location move and I have to say I was not very impressed with the competition itself. As always, their team looked great though and they had a lot of fun! We had to be there two hours early so while Reese and I waited with her team, Lance took the boys around to ride some rides. It was a hot day so thankfully we were in some shade.

Reese and two sweet girls from her team.

The boys would check in occasionally.

Finally it was time to compete. They were so cute standing on the edge of running out to the floor.

Cobalt took first place (out of only two I think). That is her head coach.

Our sweet, sweet friends came to cheer Reese on. Not often you can get in to a cheer competition for free (there was no cost other than admission to the park and we all have season passes).

We walked around the park for a bit but realized it was just too packed to enjoy ourselves so we all headed home to hang out instead.

BOY CAR! Suns out, guns out...once again for those sweet babies of ours.

It was a fun and hot day!

Hayes's team is the Diamondbacks this spring. My poor third kid never gets professional pictures made so one day I got him outside and took a few pictures before his game and then took a few while they warmed up.

I love this series of pictures. He was ready for the ball to be thrown to him and you can see that he caught it and how proud he is of himself. He watched it all the way in to his glove.

This particular game Hayes begged to play catcher. That position in tee ball is usually reserved for the kid who isn't that in to the game that day because they don't get to do that much. But since Hayes begged, Lance let him play back there. He did more than any other catcher usually does in tee ball. At one point the other coach told Lance that Hayes was doing a good job giving him a target to pitch to.

We have loved watching him play this season and love his passion for it!

Hayes Happenings

I guess it is obvious that I spend most of my time with Hayes. So most of my pictures have to do with him.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he and his best friend Denver get to spend a lot of time together. A couple of times we have met them at the ball park for lunch and to play. This particular day this sweet groundsman was digging up the pitchers mound and replacing it with a new one. The boys were so interested and he let them each help. He gave them the shovel and let them dig in the dirt. They loved it and the next time Hayes and I saw him, Hayes remembered who he was.

He loves toys! All toys! He can entertain himself all day with toys. He has a fun little imagination. Each morning that we are going to school he always grabs at least two toys to bring so we can play with them while we wait in car line.

On Thursdays, the Sky Zone near us has toddler time so we have been going there quite often. Some days they even have theme days. This particular day was Dr. Suess day.

Hayes had seen some Monster Truck videos on You Tube Kids so when he saw the ad for it at CFA he said he wanted to go. Lance took both boys with some friends and they had a good time. Lance said it wasn't what he expected and Hayes fell asleep during some of the show!

A fireman was testing the fire hydrant one after noon after church so the kids watched as he did this.

Spring School Pictures...

Hayes has loved playing baseball again this spring. He is doing great and starting to figure things out a bit more. He is still one of the younger ones on the team but you would never know. He has also started showing interest in watching the Braves on TV.

More Sky Zone...the sky ladder

One day we were talking about Elle and I told him I would swaddle him like her. He thought it was so funny!

Waiting on Sam to round the corner so we could attack him with Nerf guns.

Hanging out at tumble practice with his buddy, Annie.

Hayes had a game one evening and I was running around getting everything ready. I came around the corner and Sam had helped Hayes get all dressed. It was so cute to see him ready for his game with Sam's help. His pants may have been a little high but it was the effort that counted. (don't mind his silly face)

Again with the silly faces. St Patrick's Day at the big kids school.

One night when we were getting ready for bed, I looked in his room and he was "reading" this book by himself.

Baseball bucket mishap

He plays baseball outside as much as he can.

He was playing with all these toys one day and I asked him what they were doing and he said sleeping (they are all face down).

More Sky Zone...Hayes wanted them both to wear their football jersey's this day.

Wearing bright colors helps me keep up with him!

Two little peeps hanging out at tumble. It took a lot of bargaining to get this picture.

Playing at the playground. They think that if it is warm, they need to take their shirts off.

The bargaining from the peeps picture was a treat at the soccer game. And the Reese's peanut butter egg was so good he wanted to save some for later all over his face.
