We almost made it!

Today Reese had such a good day. She woke up in a bad mood, took a nap, woke up in a MUCH better mood, and continued through the day in a great mood. She had one small dirty diaper this morning and we thought we were doing well. Then right before bath time she had a really stinky, dirty diaper. And then it happened...she apparently wasn't finished...and finished in the tub! It was disgusting!! Lance had to clean out the tub while I transferred Reese to the other bathroom and finished her bath. PLEASE tomorrow let's be done with this!!

And I thought

Saturday was an eventful day!! Yesterday morning after Reese woke up we headed downstairs. She was acting kind of sluggish so we just sat on the couch and turned on PBS. She just cuddled in my lap, sucking on her juice cup, not moving. I laid down on the couch really just to test her. She does not EVER just lay down with me...and she did. She laid there in my arms kind of moaning. I asked Lance to get her some Cheerios while we were still laying there. He brought them to her and sat them in front of her. As she reached for them while still laying there she threw up all over me and the couch. It was all Pedialyte down my shirt. I sat her up and she threw up a little more then started to cry. I felt so bad for her. It was so pitiful but she immediately felt better. Since all of this was before 8 am we had to wait to call the doctors office until they opened. Once they were opened we made an appointment for 11. Twice before her appointment she had a yucky diaper. When we were finally able to see the doctor at 11:45, he checked her out, said she looked nicely hydrated, and gave us a prescription to help with nausea. We never gave her the medicine because she seemed to feel much better in the afternoon and ate ALL of her lunch.

This morning she woke up early but seems to be feeling well. I put her down for a nap because she was mighty grumpy. I hear her, right now, calling for Abby (from Sesame Street). We have definitely created a monster when it comes to "Mo". I have created a new rule where "Mo" is only watched once a day...so I better make that time count. She has been spoiled the last couple of weeks because she has gotten to watch "Mo" any time due to the fact that I was trying to get over the pain of having my wisdom teeth out and then her being sick. Next week hopefully we can get back on track once Daddy is back at work. She is not quite sure what to do with him here all day, every day. We are praying that the stomach bug has run its course!! Hopefully we can make it through the rest of the week sick-free.

Happy Birthday to my sister, Leah, today!!! We love you!!!

Right now...

Lance and Reese are sitting on the couch playing "Mo" on the computer. I love listening to them enteract, talk and laugh together. It makes my heart happy ; )

A little bug

Reese's tummy has still been upset today. We called the nurse on call this morning and she said that a stomach bug has been going around. So we guess Reese must have caught it. Please, God, do not let Lance and I get it from her. Lance has this week off to spend time with us and it would be horrible if we were both stuck in the bathroom!! Reese took another long nap today so hopefully her body is busy fighting off this bug. All day she has been asking for milk and we won't give it to her. That is the last thing her little tummy needs. She has been downing Pedialyte and trying to stay as hydrated as possible. I feel so terrible for her!! It makes me sad when she is sick. This morning Lance stayed home from church with Reese so we didn't get any of the other kids sick. He entertained her with "Mo" all morning. Here is a video of them playing on Sesame Street's website.

An Eventful Day

Starting 5:30 AM I hear, "ma-ma, ma-ma". I think to myself, she can't be awake already. Get out of bed to go see why she is awake. Pick her up out of bed because she is obviously wide awake. Feel her arm is soaking wet up to her elbow. Put my hand on her bed and feel it is soaking wet. Turn on the light. See throw up all over the bed and her pjs...horrible smell hits. It is Outback's chicken fingers. Wake Lance up. We tag team cleaning up. Put her clothes in the wash. I bathe her while she shivers because it is freezing at 5:30 in the morning in our bathroom. Wash her hair...which she hates as usual. Dry her off, put new pjs on, turn Elmo on because we are not going back to sleep right away. She watches Elmo...all 50 minutes. We try to close our eyes. 6:30, put her back in bed. She goes to sleep...as do we.

Once we are up and moving again, I head out the door to a baby shower for a high school friend. I decorated the burp cloth to the right as one of her gifts. You can never have too many burp cloths and if you have to have them why not make them look cute? Lance stayed home with Reese who takes a three hour nap for him. After the shower I met them at the mall to buy Reese some pants because she does not have many. As we are about to head out we see Reese's favorite people...Tuck-Tuck and Me-me. She was super happy about seeing them!!
By bath time we have changed two super stinky diapers, had a couple of breakdowns, and her hair still smells of a hint of throw up. Hopefully Reese's tummy will feel better tomorrow!! And her hair won't stink any more!!

Gobble, Gobble

Today Reese and I went over to my friend Meredith's house. Reese was sooooo good. I brought her Elmo movie over to keep her entertained some while the mommies made treats.

Doesn't she look like such a big girl sitting on the couch?

In between movie watching, she showed the boys the ropes around the toy box.

And then played with Tuck-Tuck in a diaper box.

Here was our creation. We made turkey cupcakes. Aren't they so cute?

On the way home Reese was pooped out so she took a quick nap while in the middle of reading her book.

Elmo...

Elmo is our new best friend around here. This weekend he was on our TV all day, every day. Since I was trying to rest and recuperate I just let Reese be entertained by the red monster. And she loved it. This morning around 5 I woke up and my mouth was hurting so I took some more of the sleepy medicine thinking I still had another three hours of sleep. Reese decided to wake up just after 7 and I just couldn't get going. So we came downstairs, turned on Elmo, and I fell back asleep on the couch while Elmo babysat. She just sat snuggly in my lap and let me sleep. After that quick nap I was refreshed and ready to start the day. She has been so great this weekend!

I made it...

Yesterday I had my wisdom teeth out. It was no fun at all. I feel good today but am waiting for the pain to start now...I read days 3-4 are the worst. Hopefully it can't be any worse than having a baby and recovering from that! We shall see.

Finally...

this "historical" election is over. We can move on now. Accept what is in front of us. Support our new leader. And pray for this country and the people who run it. I am at peace with our country's decision because I know ultimately God is in control.

Georgia Voter

Today I took Reese with me to vote. I had planned on only doing a drive by of my voting location at 11:45 today because I was worried there would be a lunch rush. Turns out there wasn't so we went in to vote. I was in and out (with a child in tow) in ten minutes! I am SO happy I waited to vote until today instead of early voting and waiting 3+ hours.

Here is Reese after the primaries in February.

And here she was today...what a change...sweet baby above...tempermental toddler below.

And just for fun...here is Reese looking stylish on Sunday.

After Halloween Party

Today we went to a Halloween Party with the mommies and babies that we get together with occasionally. We call all of the parties "Baby Daddy (insert whatever the event is)"...today's party was the "Baby Daddy Halloween Party". This is so the baby's daddies can all meet and hang out. We try to do this once a month. Unfortunately, Lance has only been to one party...the first one. Each party he has had other plans. Today he was cheering on the jackets while Reese was busy being a cute bumblebee.

She ALWAYS wants to play with the baby toys...even though she was never interested in them at our house.

Here we are at the party. I am glad we got to use her costume one more time. Today we went with out the turtle neck because it was a nice day.

Here we are with Amy and Tuck-Tuck.
Thanks Amy for sharing these pictures.

Halloween Fun

Last night was interesting. We dressed Reese up as a bumblebee and she looked adorable. I am not sure what she thought of being dressed like that though. I don't think she thought much of it.

But then the doorbell started to ring and she got nervous. At first we thought she might have thought we were leaving. But then we realized it was the costumes. Particularly the kids that had masks on their faces. She did not like that at all. She started crying and was so nervous about it.

So we didn't go to the door with her for a little while. Later our friends from the neighborhood came over to visit for a few minutes. We sat outside with them and Reese started to warm up to the idea of seeing all of the kids. She was still terrified of the ones with masks so I would just turn her away as they were walking up.

Emma was a little monster...so cute!!

After the girls were settled for a little while and having fun we decided to take them to a couple of the neighbors houses that we know. They had fun walking to the doors and getting candy in their halloween buckets. It was a good thing we only went to three houses because that took about twenty minutes. They were slow pokes walking to and from the houses. They weren't quite sure what was going on.

After we said good night to them, Reese came inside to check out her goodies.

Now Lance and I get to eat her goodies!!
