IT'S A....

GIRL!!!

We found out this morning we are having a baby girl in July. It is so funny because this whole time we have been talking like it was a girl but in reality had no idea. I am excited that it is a girl but I would have been happy either way. I am not sure how Lance really feels. He says he is excited but I think he is a little nervous about it. He said he was going to go out and buy a gun now. HaHa! The doctors appointment went well. They said everything looks right on track and that the baby is healthy. That is all we can ask for!! Now we have to start the process of finding a name. That is going to be HARD!!

Here are some pictures of Baby Girl Edwards:

This is the view showing it is a girl...
Here she is looking at you...
UPDATE:
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone I have talked to today about having a little girl. It has been overwhelming!! I am so happy that everyone is as excited about this adventure as Lance and I are. Leah called me this afternoon and said she has already gone out and bought a gift for our little girl. She is so sweet! We are going to have the luckiest baby to be surrounding by all of these amazing people!

Whirlwind

Lance and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend with a whirlwind of events. Friday night we checking in to the Georgian Terrace Hotel, ate dinner at Gordon Biersch (sp?), and then went to see Spamalot at the Fox. The show had some funny parts but most of it was over my head. I think if I had ever seen any Monty Python movies I might have enjoyed it more. The nights stay in a king size bed was fabulous!! We really have to invest in one of those soon!! Then the next morning we got up and went to Krispie Kreme for breakfast. I know...not the healthiest way to start the day but it was delicious!! I haven't had Krispie Kreme in forever! Then we went to the Titanic exhibit. It was really fascinating. You had to remind yourself that all of the artifacts you were looking at were pulled up from 2.5 miles below the sea. What a tragedy to loose so many people. At the beginning of the exhibit they give you a boarding pass with the actual name of someone who was on the Titanic. At the end you find out if your person made it safely off the boat. My person lived, along with her youngest son, and two friends. Her eldest son died. Next we were off to lunch in the Highlands and then the Aquarium. What a "sea" of people!! It was mass chaos...and no organization. However, it was neat to see most of the things there especially the Beluga Whales. They were VERY entertaining. We finished off the night at the Thrashers game. They played horrible so we left early and made it out just before all of the other events down town let out. Overall the weekend was great! It was great to spend time with Lance and enjoy each others company. We definitely have to do that again soon!

Am I Crazy?

I am beginning to think so...and I think Lance does too. I don't understand what my problems is with getting bigger and growing out of my clothes. Last night I almost had a break down trying to figure out what clothes to pack for our anniversaripalooza weekend. I ONLY NEED CLOTHES FOR ONE DAY!! Nothing looks right when it is on. Nothing makes me happy to wear it. How is this possible? Don't get me wrong...I am totally happy that my baby is growing. I just wish there were cuter clothes out there for me to wear and that I had unlimited amounts of money in my bank account to purchase these clothes. I can't go broke buying clothes...we still have to buy baby stuff. I was told there was a consignment sale at Mt. Paran Church in March. It apparently has tons of baby stuff there every year. Maybe the rich Buckhead moms will have taken their old maternity clothes there as well. I am definitely going to try to go!! I wonder if all this will be easier to handle with a second child?? Wait...let's make it through #1 with out talking about #2.

Three days until we know the sex of our baby!! I can't wait!!

Random Thoughts

Today's blog is going to be a bunch of thoughts all together. I didn't have time to get these out yesterday so here goes...

I had a great weekend this past weekend. It was super busy but I got to enjoy time with people that I don't get to see all that much. Friday night Lance and I spent time together having dinner and doing laundry. Not much fun but it has to get done...especially when we were not going to be home the whole weekend. The greatest thing about Friday night was looking through the mail and seeing an anniversary card from my sweetest cousin, Lissa, who is always so thoughtful and caring. She always sends cards for every occasion. I love her so much!! Saturday, Lance and I met Adrienne and Erik for breakfast/lunch at West Egg Cafe. Adrienne always knows of the neatest places to eat. Lance and I were headed to Ikea after that so we invited them to come along. We wanted to see what kind of baby furniture they have. It turns out all they have looks like it should be in a church nursery. No luck there. After that I was planning on dragging Lance to Old Navy for more maternity clothes shopping and then to Intimacy's (time for a new bra). We decided it would be better for the boys to go to a movie and for Adrienne to come shopping with me. So we did that. It was a great day and Adrienne really helped me find some cute clothes that I was happy with. I think Lance put her up to it... Then Sunday after church we headed over to my parents house to spend some time with them and have dinner. Both of my sisters were able to be there which is rare. It is always fun to see my family. I wish I lived closer to them so that I could see them more often.

Last night I get home from yoga and there is a present sitting on the counter for me from Lance. Now if you read Lance's blog yesterday he said he did not get me anything...he lied. To go back a little, we have picked out how we want to decorate the nursery. It is the sweetest little pattern we found at Babies R Us. Anyways, there was this wall shelf that really pulls the whole room together but it cost more than I would like to spend. I told Lance I could make one just like it. Apparently he didn't think so so he bought the shelf for me for our anniversary. It is so precious. I can't wait to finish decorating that room!!!

This morning the most amazing thing happened to me at the gym. While waiting in line for a shower (silly new year's resolution people are still around) the girl in front of me said I looked like I was really in shape. She said I had great arms. That was the perfect thing for her to say to a pregnant lady who is bummed about her stomach hanging over her pants. Apparently she didn't notice that. I just want it to actually look like I am pregnant instead of like I need to work out!! It will come...the belly I have showed up over night so I have no doubts of it continuing to grow.

We are having our house cleaned today. I can't wait to get home and enjoy it being so clean!! I will let you know how it turns out tomorrow.

It happened today

Some one was actually brave enough to ask me if I am pregnant this morning. Today was only my second day wearing a full maternity outfit. (I am not totally comfortable with all the attention my co-workers gave me the first time so I didn't wear them again until today.) Actually, the shirt I am wearing today will probably last through nine months so I think that is where her courage came from. She was so sweet about it though. She said she has wanted to ask me for a couple of days but was afriad to. I guess my outfit gave it away today.

If you have never been pregnant before, you would be surprised at how emotional it is to actually put on maternity clothes. Not emotional in the sense that you are happy about it...emotional that now you just look fat in your clothes! A while back I had a co-worker who was pregnant for the first time and I was totally surprised to hear her have these thoughts and feelings. I was like "Hey lady, your pregnant...get over it!" Now I totally feel her pain!! Not only are your old clothes not fitting anymore, you are having to go out and buy clothes...clothes that look like old lady clothes. So now you don't just look pregnant, you look like a pregnant grandma.

Sorry for the rant...but it's my blog!!!

Finally...

We finally did it...we traded in Lance's truck last night. Buying cars is so stressful. Hopefully we are done for a while!! We ended up getting him an '03 Passat. It is really nice and hopefully we won't have any problems with it. I am so glad that is off of our plate!!

On a baby note, I got a call on Wednesday from the Drs. office to let me know the results of the blood test from the last appointment. Luckily everything looks good. The baby does not have spina bifida. Technology is amazing.

Sixteen days until we find out the sex of the baby! I can't wait!!!

I Love...

...The way the black sky turns orange on the horizon as the sun is coming up.

...When it is still dark outside before the sun comes up and you can see the big, bright, full moon.

...Coming around the bend on 75 and seeing the mountains of North Georgia.

...When the sky is free of clouds and all you see on the bright blue background are airplane trails.

...All of the colors of the sky during dusk.

...Being able to thank God for a beautiful Fall day.

...Orange lifesavers.

...Looking through old vacation photos...especially when I am craving a vacation.

...My husband giving me a kiss when he walks in the door.

...Visiting my dad at his office.

...Talking to my mom on the phone.

...Spending time with my sisters doing nothing.

...Songs that remind me of high school or college.

...Beautiful paintings.

...That my husband is the smartest person I know.

...Photo collages.

...Random thoughts my kindergarteners have at Church that have nothing to do with Church.

...ICE CREAM!

16 weeks

We had another monthly doctor's visit yesterday. Everything went well. We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat again which is always amazing. The little booger was moving around in there yesterday so the doctor had to keep moving the doppler to find the heartbeat. All of our tests have come back good so far. Yesterday they took blood to make sure the baby does not have spina bifida. I am sure we will know those results soon. I have never had so much blood taken in my life as I have these past few months.

On February 26th we have scheduled an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby. We are VERY excited about that!! I can't wait to know what we are having.

I think this weekend I am going to have to break down and buy some maternity clothes. Most of my pants are getting too tight to be comfortable. I read that during the 17th week the baby will have a growth spurt so that means I will as well. I guess I should be ready.

On a similar note, this morning as I was leaving the gym I had the radio on Kicks 101.5. They are having their annual Radiothon for St. Jude. Even before I was pregnant I had a hard time listening to the stories that were told on there. I would usually listen for a short time and then change the station. Well today I was not prepared for them to be telling these horrible stories of these precious babies. I probably didn't have the radio on for twenty seconds before I was crying and changing the station. It is undescribable how different those stories affect me now. For the rest of the week, I will not be listening to Kicks. I can't handle hearing that everyday. Only positive thoughts right now!!
