Our baby bunny is back!! Reese had fun watching him bounce around the backyard today. He is hard to see but he is between her head and her hand. He was so cute. He came right up to the window today and looked in the house! He was a brave little guy.
Reese looked so cute in her sailor outfit today. She acts like she is shy...silly girl.
Sunday's is Lissa day. She usually spends the day with us and then watches Reese while we go to our FPU class. Reese is usually well behaved but has her moments while we are gone. Well poor Lissa (and Tina who was in town) had a rough night with Reese tonight. Here are a couple of things that I think led to Reese's rough night. First of all, Lissa did not come to church with us this morning because her sister, Tina, was in town. She spent the morning with her family instead. So Reese didn't see her all day and didn't have the full on Lissa love yet. Second of all, my family (parents, sisters, and grandparents) came over after church so there was a bunch of attention directed at Reese. Slowly everyone started leaving...including Mommy. Third, Lance has been at work since 11 or so this morning due to some problems at the office. So Reese has not had her much needed Daddy time today. So all of these problems led to a combustion of attitude and Reese cried almost the entire time I was gone. When I walked in the door Tina was standing up holding a sleeping Reese who had probably worked herself up so much she passed out from crying exhaustion. I'm sorry guys that you had a such a rough night!
Here is Reese and Lissa the first night she kept her for us! Hopefully the next time won't be so rough!!

Growing Up
It has been over 48 hours since I last nursed Reese. I think it was harder for me to stop nursing than it was for her. She went to bed as she normally does and I came downstairs a little misty-eyed. She is still not wanting to drink milk instead but we are working on it...we will keep trying!! Who would have thought that it would be so emotional to stop when I was looking so forward to stopping?!?!? Now I own my own body again for awhile! How did she grow so fast to get to this point? I am so grateful to have had this special bonding time with her over the last year...and I am glad to be done in a bitter sweet kind of way!

Knock, knock
Today Reese had a playdate with a couple of my cousins kids. Caleb is two months younger than Reese and Ashlyn is almost five months old. Caleb and Reese were following each other all around the house and had a good time. Reese loved my cousin Elisa...she kept reaching up to her to have her pick her up. It was too cute. After they all left and were getting in to their car, Reese was watching them from the window. She started knocking on the window and waving to them. It was so cute I had to get a video of it.
Reese and Caleb both wanted to use the walking toy!

All three kids...I don't think any of them wanted their picture taken.
This picture is from the other day. Reese is wearing her stylin' new outfit from H&M that Aunt Becky bought for her.
My little Hollywood. She has loved playing with her sunglasses the last few days. She takes them off and then wants them put right back on...over and over and over.

Eating and Drinking
Reese has been eating and drinking like a big girl lately! She is not too interested in me feeding her from a spoon and bowl. She wants to be able to put the food in her mouth by herself. Last night we ate tacos for dinner so we gave her a tortilla, some taco meat, and cheese. She ate all of the meat and cheese but wasn't too interested in the tortilla. This morning she ate a whole waffle and then let me feed her some Gerber fruit afterwards. I think that is going to be the trick...let her feed herself first and then I can come in for more after she is done. She also likes to drink out of her cup by herself...finally. She is growing up so fast!!

So much to do, so much to see
As I said in my last post, Reese likes to do what we are doing. So on Saturday morning when Daddy was eating his cereal, Reese wanted to enjoy it too. Daddy let her play with his spoon and bowl when he was done. Being the little piggy that she is she had to reach in and get all of the cereal crumbs left behind so she could eat them.
Midday Saturday we went to our friends house for a wonderful lunch. Reese got to entertain some as usual. While Lance and Matt played Lego Star Wars on the Wii, us girls got to visit. Here are Maddie, Jodi, and Reese watching the boys play.
Sunday after church we went to have lunch with my family to celebrate a late Father's Day and early birthday for my dad (whose birthday is tomorrow).
Reese was pooped after lunch and took a nap on the way home.
This past week Reese found her tongue. She would pull on it and stick it out. It was so funny.
She also figured out how to open her Goldfish case and get the Goldfish out...stinker!
I think I have talked about this before but we have a nature center in our backyard. We see all kinds of birds, rabbits, chipmunks and squirells. This picture is of a baby rabbit we saw with who we assume was his mommy yesterday morning. Later in the afternoon after seeing this bunny we saw something tragic happen. We saw a black crow swoop down and knock out a chipmunk. Then as he swooped by for the second time he picked the chipmunk up in his mouth and flew away with it. It was horrible. I think all of the animals saw this happen yesterday because our backyard has been so quiet today. I have not seen one bird or rabbit today. I saw one brave and sneaky chipmunk run across the back fence hiding in the shadows...but that is all. It is so sad and quiet out there today! Mean old crow!!

Drink and Talk
Here is a video I took a couple of days ago. Reese always wants to do what ever we are doing. So after I finished my water she wanted to drink out of my cup. Here she is trying to drink from the cup...and a little talking in between.

Playdate
Yesterday we had a playdate with Caleb from church. He is about three months older than Reese and he is walking. It was so cute to see him teeter and make sharp turns. He was doing great. When they got here the kids played for a bit...both wanting to play with the same things. Then we headed off to the pool and played. They both had fun splashing and then eating a snack! I told Caleb's mom, Kim, that the last time we had a playdate Reese wasn't crawling yet but learned how to soon after the playdate. Maybe she will learn to walk soon now!
This is Reese's favorite box to climb on and sit on. So Caleb decided he wanting to partake in the fun! Reese doesn't look too happy about sharing it.

What did we do before cameras?
Seriously, when Reese is older she will know what she looked like and what she did every day of her life. There are very few days that go by that we don't take at least one picture of her!! I don't think I would be able to remember all of this fun information with out our cameras and blogs!!
Reese eating her first Dunkin' Donuts Munchin' that we bought Daddy for Father's Day breakfast. She, of course, loved it!!
Every weekend Lance cuts the grass and every weekend this is what I see. Reese watching him the entire time he is in the back yard!!
Daddy and Reese wrestling with the lambie! She was scared of it for a little while but then she finally grew to love it! Look at that face she is making...wouldn't you be scared of her?
Reese and Daddy getting some web surfing in.
I just love these chubby little legs! We have made it in to size 4 diapers now. The size 3 said they go to 28 lbs...they must be crazy...or your kid has to have no pot belly because Reese's belly was hanging over them and they looked so uncomfortable. My lesson in life to pass on is when the diaper can no longer hold the poop in, move on up to the next size!!

She's back
My sweet baby is back!! We had a rough day Tuesday. Apparently Reese's tummy was super upset. She went #2 so many times that day...now poor thing has a bad diaper rash! But we made it through Tuesday and she started feeling much better yesterday. She was smiling, happy, and playing. We were able to run a few errands and get some things done. Today we went out to my parent's house and met a girlfriend and her kids there. We all went to the pool and the kids had a great time! It was great to see them...we don't get to see them nearly enough. The girls change so much between each visit. Reese was much happier today as well. Yeah!
Tuesday after Reese's nap I let her "finger paint" in her highchair with some yogurt. I added some green beans for color. She really enjoyed it.
Messy Face
Reese came dressed in this cute yellow bumble bee outfit today and Kerri just happened to have one for Juliette too so we put in on her so we could take their pictures. Luckily this is ok when you are little...once you are older, girls do not want to be caught in the same outfit. Maybe that is what Juliette is saying here..."Oh no, you caught us!"
Kendall entertaining the babies...

What's the deal?
Reese has been cranky, whiny, fussy, if it is bad she has been it today and the last few days! She has learned how to pitch a fit when she is not getting what she wants. She tosses and turns when I am trying to change her diaper. She runs away from me when she has something that she shouldn't. The look to the right is exactly her these last few days. I think she is tired of me...she wants some new faces around. Hopefully I can schedule some playdates coming up so she can have some other interaction.
Sunday night Lance and I started a class by Dave Ramsey called Financial Peace University. It was interesting and we are really looking forward to these next 13 weeks. Hopefully we will come out of this class with a bright future ahead of us when it comes to finances. I think both of our overall goals are to 1) be debt free (eventually) and 2) know how to help Reese (and any other kids that come along) with her financial planning. My sweet cousin Lissa kept Reese for us. She said Reese was an angel while we were gone...why can't she be that way for me? Liss, can you come over here all of the time??

Picture Stories
Reese and I have had a fun week. Here are some pictures to show what we have been up to.
Hollywood
I let Reese roam the upstairs while I was showering...I found her here when I got out..at my computer playing with the mouse.
My new view. When we go to the pool I usually just stick her in a t-shirt or something afterwards. This day I stuck her bloomers on her and let her run free. I think she likes it!
This is her new face. I have tons of pictures with this face instead of a smile.
We had a playdate with our old friend Mitchell today. They were so cute and sweet together. They were both playing with the music station and I called their names to get a picture. This is how they turned around...like a baby prom picture. They fell over right afterwards.
Here they are again smiling for Nicole. We had such a great time playing! I can't believe they are both going to be ONE next month!!

How embarrasing...
I just got home from the store and realized that I have poop...yes, POOP...on my shirt. Apparently on the way to the store somebody (I will not mention names to protect the stinky) pooped...ALOT...in their diaper and it squirted out on to my shirt when I got her out of the car. I walked around the store carrying her and people talking to her all the while I am sure they were looking at the poop on my shirt. Nice! Then I put her back in the car, still not noticing. Luckily we came straight home. Eww!!

More
Reese has learned how to say more in sign language. She doesn't really know how to use it yet. And she shows you how she can play shy as well...which she is not.
She is in her bed screaming again tonight. I don't know what the deal is...maybe she is not tired. It is stressful...

The Right Decision
As of May 31st our house is no longer for sale. We decided to wait until maybe next year or the next to see if the market gets any better. Then we will try to sell it again. As for right now I think we have made the right decision. We both feel really good and confident about our decision. Today while I was at the pool with Reese I met a girl who was about my age with a daughter who is seven months old! That is so wonderful because for the last two and a half years we have lived here we thought there was no one else around our age here. Now hopefully we can make some friends and Reese will have some friends her age to play with! I am excited to see how this summer goes and to see what is in store for us!!
