Chatty
When we were at the park yesterday she talked the ENTIRE first mile! I am not exaggerating.
The girl can talk.
I can just see it now. Her report cards come home with bad grades in conduct due to talking. I better prepare myself now.
This is what Sam has to put up with...
Updated to add:
Reese informed me during our walk this afternoon that she sang "Single Ladies" and "Apple Bottom Jeans" for Ms. Sharon (her teacher) on the playground today. That is just fabulous! Can you imagine what the teachers were thinking of me when she "turned around and gave that big booty a smack"? Oh Lord, Please don't let this be true!!

Disney Bad Words
I must apologize to all the other two year olds in the world whom I thought may have taught Reese these bad words and habits. Nope, it was no other kid. It was Disney!!

Let Me Explain
Remember last Tuesday I sent Reese to school the day after finding out she had a double ear infection, let her sleep in until school was starting, rushed to get her out of the door because she said she wanted to go to school, instead of fighting with her to do her hair i threw it up in a ponytail, walked her in to school because car rider line was over, she pitched a fit going in to school because I was leaving…oh yeah and it was picture day?
Here is how it went:
“Ms. Sharon, I told you I am not feeling well. I would rather not smile right now.”
“Fine! I will look at Mr. Jim with that silly cat on his head.”
“But I am not laughing when he makes it fall off. Nope! Not going to do it!”
And finally…the best one of them all.
It might be the one we purchase.
I laughed out loud when I saw it!
“I SAID I AM NOT GOING TO SMILE TODAY!! I am going to lay my head down right here and pout until you let me up from this silly position.”
Seriously!
Note to self:
*Do not send Reese to school for pictures when she is not feeling 100%.
*Don’t rush doing her hair on picture day!
*Teach Reese how to smile for the camera when I am not behind it making silly faces and telling her to smile.
High Chair
After Reese was done with her high chair we got rid of it because I did not like how much room it took up. So for Sam I bought a “high chair” that buckles in to a seat at the table. I am so much happier with this arrangement!! Now he can sit at the table with us when we eat dinner while being fed too.

March of Dimes
We are once again doing the March of Dimes with Lance’s office this year. Please take a minute to check out the organization and consider making a donation through the button on my side bar.
Thank you, Lord, for our healthy children!!
Four and a Half Months
This is a comparison of Reese and Sam at the same age…
I don’t think they look anything alike…except for maybe their eyes. And look at the difference in the amount of hair. Their noses may look similar head on but their profile is totally different. They both smile with their mouths and their eyes…and it is funny how both of their tongues are hanging out.
They are so yummy!

Easter Baskets
I love the Pottery Barn Kids Easter baskets. However, I think they are ridiculously expensive (for me). So I bought two baskets and set out to make Reese and Sam their own baskets.
I bought two baskets that were already lined but I didn’t like the lining.
So I bought new fabric that I liked better and then took the linings apart and used them as a pattern.
After I finished making the linings, I gave them to my mom to have them embroidered.
Aren’t they so cute??

Our Weekend
to watch
Lance’s nephew play baseball.
Reese played in the rocks!
After lunch with Lance’s family, we went back home
to play
outside.
Later my best friend from high school and her husband came over to cookout with us.
What a beautiful weekend!! We had such a great time visiting with everyone.
And today? There were snow flurries. Really?

Perfect!!
Today could not be any more beautiful!! The temperature is perfect out in the sun, there is a nice little breeze, and not a cloud in the sky!!
After gymnastics we picked up some Chick-fil-A for lunch and headed to the park. We ate our lunch with some friends and then I let Reese play…for a long time! Sam just sat in my lap and enjoyed being outside. He didn’t make a peep while watching all of the kids run around and squeal. It is amazing what a little sun can do for you!!
I can’t wait until after nap time to be able to go for a walk around the neighborhood. Maybe we will even play at the playground for a little while.

One Happy Mommy
Last night we finally had a decent nights sleep around here!! Woohoo! That makes for a happy mommy.
Reese did her ritual 1:00 wake up to go to the bathroom. It was funny though. She woke up and was saying, “Winsey, Winsey, I need to go to the potty!”. Our babysitters name is Lindsey and she was here with Reese last night while we went to small group. I guess Reese just thought she was still here. On a normal night Reese will wake up, go potty, and then as soon as her feet hit the ground she is sprinting in to our room to climb in bed with us. Last night as I walked her to the bathroom I said, “OK, when you are done we are going to go back to your bed.” When she got off the potty, I took her hand and started walking her back to her room. She whimpered for a second but then climbed right back in to her bed with out a fight. I ran out of her room as fast as I could because I was hoping it wasn’t going to be too good to be true. She went right back to sleep!
Sam didn’t wake up until 3:30 which was fabulous. He eats and then falls right back to sleep usually waking up about three hours later. This morning he didn’t wake back up for another 4.5 hours! I actually woke up before both kids!
I feel rested today for the first time in a long time. Let’s hope we can keep this up!!
I Need to Shop!!
Today I ran to the mall to pick up a few things and wanted to spend money on clothes for the kids so bad!! I don’t know why! I think when the weather is nice it makes me want to buy more…maybe it is the change in the weather and needing a new seasons worth of clothes…I really don’t know. I have been “shopping” online this afternoon while the kids are napping. Here are just a couple of things I want for them…
I wish I could find clothes for me as easily as I find them for the kids!! I am in desperate need of clothes myself.

Happy Day!
Little man has had a great day too. The last two days he hasn't really been interested in eating any rice cereal so I haven't been pushing it. He did really well for a couple of days but just not even wanting to eat a bite today. I might try some oatmeal tomorrow. He is such a sweet and laid back little guy! He rarely gets mad or upset. However, he does not like to go to sleep. As soon as I sit down in the rocking chair to get him to sleep he starts screaming. He is also still waking up a good bit at night to eat. I am ready for that to stop but I am definitely letting him lead the way. He knows better than I do. Occasionally I do ask Lance to go in and try to give him a pacifier first to see if that is all he needs. I think I remember around this time with Reese she was wanting to eat a lot at night too...must be a growth spurt.
I am so happy that we have had a great day today! Hopefully it will continue tomorrow!! I love my sweet babies!

Happy Baby and Sick Girl
Happy and laughing.
And this is Reese today...
Sad and sick.
Reese cried from around 5:00 yesterday afternoon until around 11:00 last night. I knew she was tired from our crazy, busy weekend but also knew there had to be something else going on. We checked her temperature when we put her to bed and it was fine. She kept crying for a couple of hours and her temperture just kept going up. We gave her some Tylenol and it helped her get some sleep (in my bed, of course). This morning I took her to the doctor and she has a double ear infection. This is her first ear infection(s) ever so we are not really sure how to handle this. Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon and she will feel much better!!

“Look at That Hair”
Reese probably hears those words every day! People are always commenting on her hair. Always in a good way but it is all the time. She would be much happier with straight hair. She cries every day when I go to brush it. Her trademark words are, “I told you to brush it softer”. I do brush it soft…and by brush I mean basically pick at it with a comb…it is just a mess. And I never really believed that people could have sensitive heads but I am pretty sure she does. My head is not sensitive at all so I don’t understand.
We don’t wash her hair every night but we probably should just so we can get a comb through it occasionally. (How was that for a run on sentence?) Can you believe how long her hair actually is? I literally snapped this picture after I poured water on her hair and it was already starting to curl back up.
And on the nights we do wash it she just goes to bed with it wet because we can’t dry it. Can you imagine what kind of mess that would be?
Tonight we took an early bath (before “pizza and a movie night”). By the time it was bedtime her hair looked fabulous!! It was able to be brushed, gelled, and air dried all before bed. If her hair stays curly, this will most definitely have to be a morning routine for her.
I hope that her identity does not become attached to her hair. She knows she has pretty, long, and curly hair. She says it herself because she has heard it so many times. People see the hair and have to comment…then they meet the sweet and feisty personality that comes with the sweet and feisty hair. Is it possible to be sweet and feisty? I think so…she has it down.
Yesterday we went to Target to get a few things. Reese had on a dress and her cowboy boots (her choice). As we were walking in she was being her usual chatty self. I was putting Sam in the buggy and a lady walked in behind us and said, “How cute is she?! She is a little pistol.” I laughed and thanked her. She began to walk away and another lady walked through the door while I was still trying to get Sam situated. She looked at us and said the exact same thing. Really? I laughed again and told her that the lady walking away said the same thing. They looked at each other and laughed. What are the chances? It must have been the curly hair and the boots!

Sleeping and Eating
Our kids are not good sleepers. They are definitely not horrible sleepers either though. They are both very light sleepers…which they probably get from me…definitely not from Lance who can sleep through a tornado.
If one kid wakes up crying (specifically Reese) then it wakes the other kid up. Last night I had to get up FIVE times…yes, five!
And Sam just doesn’t want to start sleeping more. The longest he is going at night is six hours. I can’t wait until I am getting more sleep. He definitely tricked me early on. In mid-January he was sleeping around eight hours at a time. What happened to those days?
Reese has been waking up at night to go to the bathroom and then wants to get in our bed. While it is fabulous that she is not wetting her pull-up and is waking up dry, it is very frustrating to be woken up unnecessarily. Last night I was able to get her to stay in her bed by laying down with her until she fell back asleep.
On top of not sleeping at night, Reese has given up sleeping during her afternoon nap. Luckily she stays in her room (and most of the time in her bed) during her naptime. And usually I can have some quiet time because I can get Sam to nap during that time too.
Switching topics…Sam ate ALL of his cereal today. He is such a big boy!! I really can’t believe that we are already doing solids with him. Time has gone by so fast.

Rice Cereal
There you go...that's how it went.
Maybe tomorrow it will go a little better...
That’s Pretty Good!
I know I have said this on here before but Reese loves using our point and shoot camera. When I go to upload the pictures I never know what I am going to find. Here are some recent pictures from our goldmine…
There were also a ton of pictures of the floor, tv, blocks, Sam, Reese’s feet, etc.
Haha…she is so funny…and a pretty good photographer. Tonight she would say, “That’s pretty good!” after she would take a picture. I love my little budding photographer!
