The Dress
Today some friends (Meredith and Amy) and I took our little ones to have their pictures made by 519 Photography. I saw on her blog the other day that she was running a halloween special where there was no sitting fee for a 15 minute session. So we took her up on it and can't wait to see the pictures. I put Reese in her cute little pumpkin dress and here it is...
I can't take credit for the design of the dress because I saw it on Etsy for sale and thought we could make the same thing for much cheaper than it was being sold for...so we did...with a couple of changes.

Jackets and Pumpkins
We had a fun and busy weekend. Friday our friend Justin and his girlfriend Erica came in town to visit. This is the last time we are going to see them both for over a year because they are both being deployed next month. We soaked up a lot of fun and time with them. As soon as they got here Friday, Reese was in Erica's lap having her read books.
Saturday we cheered on the Jackets.
Reese in her gameday attire. I can't get her to smile or pose for pictures anymore!!
The boys.
Sunday after they left we (Lance) carved our pumpkin.
Here it is in the dark.

We had a great weekend with our friends. Please pray for them to stay safe and we can't wait to see them again next year. We were talking about the changes in Reese by the time they get back. She will be 2.5 years old, will be talking a ton, and will probably have much longer hair. She will be a completely different kid by then.

Gettin Crafty
I have asked for a sewing machine for Christmas this year because there are so many cute things that I want to make. On Saturday my mom and dad came over and brought my mom's sewing machine so that I could learn how to use it. We (mostly my mom) made a fabulously cute Halloween dress for Reese. Once I get some better pictures I will post the dress. I also decided that I could make my own hairbows for Reese. This way I could make them to match different outfits.
Here is the first bow I made out of ribbon I found laying around the house. The nice thing about this one is that it will match anything!!
While my mom was working on Reese's dress I made this Halloween bow for our friend's daughter, Maddie.
And then yesterday I made this bow for Reese. It is very similar to Maddie's in color but the style of the bow is different.
Ok...now that we are all caught up for the most part, I think this will be my last post for the day.

15 months...and growing a lot!!
Reese turned 15 months old yesterday! Wow! We had her doctors visit this morning and boy has she grown! She weighs 24 lbs, 7 oz. and is 32" tall. She has grown THREE inches since her 12 month visit. I don't know what her percentages are because the computers were down. The doctors office was crazy because of this...people don't know what to do with themselves when the computers don't work. Not that I blame them...I am the same way. Reese was also supposed to get the measles portion of her MMR today but they didn't have any available. At her 12 month visit the nurse put our name on one to save it for us and it wasn't there today. Oh well, now I just have to figure out how to handle this. She thinks the maker of the vaccine is not going to separate it anymore...I don't know what I am doing to do...more research I suppose. So, lucky Reese got out with no vaccine today. That just means I will have a happy baby today. Yeah!
Cute and Crazy...

Computer Girl and Sassy Girl
Almost daily I walk around the corner and see my little computer girl like this...
And then receive this look of "don't tell me no".
And then receive this look of "don't tell me no".
I am making a bold prediction (Clark Howard's words) that this little sassy girl is going to put the terrible in terrible two's. She already pitches a fit if she doesn't get her way. Yesterday while we were out shopping with my mom I let her play with the toys for a few minutes before we were going to check out. When I was putting her in her stroller she started screaming...causing everyone to look at her to make sure I wasn't abusing her. I know this is her way of communicating right now...she doesn't have words to express her feelings. So before the terrible two's come I am going to make a point to help her understand her feelings. When she is mad I will tell her that "I understand you are mad" so that she can associate that with her feeling and hopefully learn how to use her words instead of pitching a fit. I truly think this is going be beneficial to her. She already knows that when she is tired and being cranky that I say she needs to take a nap. Now if she is pitching a fit for no reason she will look at me and say "map?". She also furrowed her brow and said "map" when we were in the store the other day and she could here a little guy pitching a fit. Hopefully she will be able to communicate a little better by next summer and it won't be so terrible.

Adventures in Reese
Trying to escape down the stairs
Starfish baby
Saturday we got to watch our neighbor, Emma, while her parents went on a date. At first Reese was excited to have her there but as more and more attention was divided Reese did not like that. She wanted all of Mommy's attention to herself. Here she is reading a book to Emma. On this page it just happens to say, "God loves me...When I am happy and when I am sad." Haha...she must have been trying to tell me something.
There is some attitude in those eyes...I think they are saying, "Really?"
She has finally had enough and she is ready for Emma to go home. A few minutes before this Emma bumped her head on the coffee table and was crying. Reese decided that at that moment it was a good idea to cry even louder because I was trying to comfort Emma. What a mess Reese is!!
A new friend, Elmo!

Gold Medal
At Lance's company picnic on Saturday there was a DJ playing music. Kids were dancing and having fun. He played the Cha-Cha slide so I took Reese out on the "dance floor" and we danced with all of the kids. Here is a picture one of Lance's co-worker's, Laurel, took of us "getting low".
After the dancing, the DJ gave out two gold medals for fabulous dancing (LOL). Reese won one of the medals. She wore it most of the day while we were at the park (see us in the bouncy house in the previous post). Then Sunday she saw it and wanted to wear it...so she wore it while Mitchell was here playing. And then today she found it again and wanted to wear it. She wore it all day! Here is a picture of her wearing her prized medal. She also found one of my headbands and wanted to wear it as well...that is the white thing around her neck. She is such a mess.

She is so girly...and I love it. When she gets new clothes we try them on when we get home. Once we put them on she does not want to take them off. My mom bought her a winter hat the other day so we tried it on her. She did not want to take it off..and it was too small. Who would have though a 12-24 month hat would be too small for my big headed baby? Well it was but she wanted to play in it. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it on her head.
Today my Hanna Anderson catalog came in. I was looking through it and Reese decided she needed to see it. She sat there and pointed to the clothes...I guess she was picking out the ones she wanted. It reminded me of my best friend from high school, Adrienne. She would get clothes catalogs in the mail and then go through them and circle everything she wanted so that her mom would know what to buy her for Christmas (or any time really).

Recap and Catch up
Last Thursday I went to a new dentist after my horrible experience at the other one a couple of weeks ago. I REALLY liked this dentist (as much as you can like one). I felt comfortable there, I had a TV to distract me, it was warm with carpet on the floors, everybody was nice...the whole nine yards. After my dentist appointment, I went to get my haircut. While I was out doing all of this exciting stuff Lance was home with Reese. They got to spend some father/daughter time together at the park and at home.
Friday we had some mommies and babies over to visit. I took Reese's old activity mat out for the babies but she has played with it since the second I took it out. It has been dragged around the house more times than I can count. Isn't it funny she has all of these fabulous toys that are age appropriate but she wants to play with this baby toy?
Saturday we went to Stone Mountain for Lance's company picnic. Reese got to play in the bouncy house. It was too funny. She wasn't sure what to do in there. She had a hard time standing up but really enjoyed it and wanted to get back in once we were out.
After the picnic my dad and Becca met us in the park and we went to the Pumpkin Festival, let Reese run down the hill on the main lawn, and then rode the train.
She hadn't taken a nap all day so by the time we got on the train she was pooped out.
Then Saturday night we met Lance's parents for dinner. Sunday was business as usual in the morning and then Mitchell and Nicole came to play in the afternoon. It was fun to see them "play" together. Each time we get together they interact more which is so neat. I took some pictures but with my mom's camera so I don't have them loaded right now...maybe I can share those later.
Finally today I had another dentist appointment to have some work done. My friend, Amy, graciously watched Reese for me. Since Reese was awake for over an hour last night during the middle of the night and only took one nap a day on Saturday and Sunday, she took over a two hour nap for Amy! I am so glad that she was able to fall asleep at Amy's house. For the rest of the day she would mention Tucker (Tuck-tuck) and Amy (me-me). I think she had a great time over there!

The Bailout
I don't know alot about politics, our economy, or our government but I keep myself surrounded by people who know and I listen to people who are smarter than me in these areas. As you know Dave Ramsey has become a big part of our household and we follow most of his financial teachings because we respect his view and outlook. Lance sent me this link today regarding the bailout and Dave's thoughts on it. Take a look at it.
Again, as some one who doesn't know much about the economy, it makes sense to not get out of debt with debt...right? We are lucky to live in a country where we get a say...we get a vote. As little as I know, I know that it is a right and previledge to be able to vote and we should all take advantage of that oppurtunity. Be sure to let your voice be heard in November and now...no matter what your views are (Lance might disagree with that...haha...he wants to hear your opinion if it is the same as his...j/k!).
