26 weeks
One more week in the second trimester. Oh my! According to one of my pregnancy books, the baby weighs almost two pounds. It can now hear us when we talk too. I have my glucose test today and hopefully that goes well! After a week on vacation (more on that later) there is no telling what will happen with this test.

Five Years Old
I can't believe my sweet baby girl is five years old today!! She is still that sweet and spicy girl we have always had but with a little added spice lately.
At five, Reese has a new found obsession with Justin Bieber and anything on the Disney channel. She has become a little more clingy and likes to be by my side at all times. She is super sweet with Sam on good days and is always being his second mommy.
She loves to think about and talk about what it is going to be like with Baby Gummy Bear. I think she is excited about the new addition. Reese loves to be the center of attention and loves to perform on and off the stage. However, she is shy with people she doesn't know...even other little kids.
She is very excited about starting Kindergarten. She is looking forward to school shopping the most, I think. She picks things up quickly and I am pretty sure she will do well in school. She still loves to color and do anything artistic. She is quick to please other people but loves to push her mommy and daddy's buttons. She told me recently that she wished she lived with someone else and she likes to say that "Mommy doesn't like me". Almost every morning she says she wishes she "had straight hair because then it wouldn't be so tangly and hurt to brush it"!
She is quick to laugh and quick to cry. She is very emotional. She has the best belly laugh that makes you laugh along with her. I pray that as she grows and learns that we grow and learn right along with her. I feel so very blessed to be this sweet girl's mommy. Happy fifth birthday, Reesey Baby Girl!

War Paint
This week Reese has been in VBS so it has just been me and Sam each morning. It has been a crazy week.
The first two days were spent in places where Sam had to be well behaved for the two plus hours we were there. He was so amazing! I really was so proud of how well he did each day. Yesterday was spent running errands the whole morning. This morning I was able to finish the errands we had by 9:30 and decided we would just come home and relax.
Sam is relaxing in front of the TV while I do laundry. One of his favorite things to do right now is bring me the sunscreen and wants to put on his war paint. So while relaxing he is preparing for war! He is silly but oh so sweet!!!

Our Weekend
We have had a nice and easy weekend. Yesterday we headed out to the mall, did some shopping, rode the carousel and then it was home for naps.
After naps we met some friends at PF Changs for dinner. It was so yummy! Cheesecake was calling our names so we went next door to satisfy that craving at Cheesecake Factory.
Today has been a normal Sunday but now I somehow have ended up with the house to myself. Lance was taking Reese to see Brave and Sam begged and cried until he got to tag along too. I think I will take advantage of the quiet and eat the rest of my cheesecake in silence.

Fun Day
Today has been a fun day. This morning I asked the kids if they wanted to go to the pool or Catch Air. They chose Catch Air. Reese asked if she could bring a friend and I thought that was a great idea. So off we went. The girls had so much fun running around together and Sam enjoyed having me follow him around.
After playing hard we went to CFA for some yummy lunch. The kids were so silly there! I just love the workers there. They go out of their way to help you out. A pregnant lady with three kids in tow really got this sweet lady's attention and she went above and beyond!
While at CFA the girls decided to have a pizza and pool night. It ended up working out for everyone and it was a great way to end our day. The kids have been sleeping in late the last few days because of all of the late nights. Fingers crossed the same thing happens tomorrow morning!!

Fourth of July part two
Yesterday was a nice day. We took it slow getting up in the morning. Everyone was kind of lazy and definitely tired from going to bed so late.
Once we were finally up we took some lunch over to our friends house. These girls have always been Reese's favorite girls but now Sam has taken to them as well. We were at their house for a little over two hours and we rarely saw either of our kids. They have so much fun with the big girls and the big girls are so great with them. I can't wait until they are old enough to babysit.
After leaving their house we came home for much needed naps. I actually had to wake Sam up from his nap three hours in because I thought he was going to sleep all night. We ate dinner and then had some late night fun. At 7:00 (when we usually start settling down for the night) we headed out to the pool with some friends. The kids played hard in the pool for a couple of hours. Once it was dark they were able to watch some fun fireworks from the pool. We also released some flying lanterns. They were really fun to see and everybody enjoyed them...little kids, teenagers, and parents alike.
It was a fun way to wrap up the fourth! We are so blessed to be Americans!!

Fourth of July
Last night we celebrated an early 4th of July with some fireworks. As we were about to leave the house, it started storming. We decided to go eat some dinner while waiting out the rain at a Mexican restaurant. It finally stopped raining so we headed out for some fun. Don't mind these crazy kids...They only want to be silly in pictures.
Reese's two BFFs were there too. They were precious together. One of the girls is a huge Power Ranger fan. Reese didn't even know what these were until this friend introduced them. They were playing with some PR figurines. Notice Reese is using her PR as lipstick while the other two girls play with them.
The kids all wanted to jump in the bounce house and get there hair spray painted. Again, how silly can they be?
It was finally time for the fireworks and the kids were SO excited. They were more fun to watch than the fireworks.
Even though it doesn't look like it Sam enjoyed them too. We were sitting super close to where they were being lit.

Time with my girl
This morning Reese and I got some unexpected alone time. We have workers in the house today so we wanted to get out for a while. Lance went to help some friends and Sam wanted to tag along with him. I have been trying to get out with just Reese for a while now and it just hasn't worked out. So today was the day! We went to get pedicures together and then run some errands. I know she needs that alone time with me more than she gets so today was a special treat!

Checking on Gummy Bear
I had an appointment today to check on our sweet baby. It was a super fast and easy appointment...thank goodness. The kids did a great job and behaved well.
Everything look and sounded great. After the appointment we headed to have lunch with Lance. It was perfect timing. He finished up a meeting right as we arrived. While we waited the two minutes for him we took silly pictures.
We, of course, went to Moe's. The kids always want to eat there. After eating lunch, Reese begged Lance to let us come up to his office. I think they just love all the attention they get there. They got to play in his office for a few minutes and draw on the whiteboard. Always a favorite. After that it was time to head home and they are taking super long naps.

Keeping It Real
When it has been a while since I have blogged, Lance says "It's time for an update!". Well, as I have said before this summer has just been crazy. From the moment we got home from our cruise it has been nothing shy of mayhem. We have so much going on but not much worth writing about. Our house is in utter disarray due to some work we are having to have done. It has been like this for three weeks and I might loose my mind soon.
I feel like I can't keep this place clean. And it is almost not worth keeping it clean due to all the mayhem. I try to keep the kids out of the house as much as possible but you can only go to the pool so many times with out getting burned out.
I also feel like there is a lot of sadness around us right now and I just don't know how to be of help. I want to do for these people but knowing what to do and when is hard. I feel so very blessed for our healthy family and all the blessing we have. I don't want to miss out on the wonderful parts of our lives by dwelling on the sadness.
I think my kids officially think I am crazy. Because of the craziness in our house I think they feel the stress of it too. They have been acting up and just flat out ignoring my directions. This isn't all the time. They are such good kids. But some nights I reflect back on our day and I think I did way more yelling and correcting than hugging and loving.
Hopefully things will slow down just a bit soon. I want to have a lazy, pajama and movie day with no workers in our clean house!! Is that too much to ask?!? Ok, so the house doesn't have to be clean...that would just be a nice bonus.
I really don't mean this to sound like complaints. I know things could be much worse. Thank you God for this beautiful life we live!!

Busy Weekend!
Oh my! I feel like I need a weekend to recover from this past weekend. We have been on the go. Saturday morning was started bright and early. Sam has decided that 6:15/6:30 is his wake up time. He comes in to our room and will occasionally go back to sleep. Usually though he whines to go downstairs until we are all up. After us all getting out of bed, Lance started cutting the grass and I started getting ready for the day. Once we were all ready to leave at 10:30 (thirty minutes late), we get in the car, a mile down the road, we realize something is wrong with one of the tires. Turns out there is a bolt in my tire so we went back home to switch cars. We were finally on the road at 11:00. We drove out to my parents house, dropped Lance and the kids off at the pool in my parents neighborhood, and then headed to a wedding shower for a cousin. After several hours there we were headed back to my parents to celebrate Granddaddy's birthday. We ate pizza and cupcakes and had a lot of fun visiting. The kids were so tired from their busy day. We got home around 9:30 and we all crashed. Sunday, Sam woke up a little late (7:00), climbed in our bed, and we all went back to sleep until 9:00! The only problem with that was we needed to be out of the house at 9:45 at the latest and both kids needed a bath and hair washed. We made it though and were on time to church. After church we headed home for lunch and quick naps because we were expecting Lance's family over at 3:00. We spent the evening with them. The kids had a blast driving the Jeep and watching movies. After everyone was gone we all just sat down and were quite for about 30 minutes...very unusual. Then it was time for baths and bed. We once again all crashed and now we have started another day. I am sitting at Honda waiting on a new tire. :-( The kids are luckily at a friends house so it is quiet and not stressful right now. Hopefully I won't be here all day though!!
